Fairport Blue unloaded on Hilton in their next game with their biggest
offensive explosion of the season. The Red Raiders scored 10 runs in each of
the first two innings to put the game away early in a 23-0 rout.
Duffy and Tellex each scored twice in the first inning as the Red Raiders
sent 14 batters to the plate. Tellex had two hits and drove in a run in the
inning. Wetzel drilled a double to the gap in left center to drive in a
pair of runs with his second hit in the inning. Wetzel added 4 rbis on the
day. Mike Marchewka also doubled down the left field line to drive in a
run.
In the second, Ian Ammons doubled twice in the inning, scored both times and
drove in a run. Devon Greeno and Tim Atkinson each added a pair of base
hits in the inning and scored a run. Fairport batted around again sending
15 batters up.
Chris Miller and Chris Vidare reached base to lead off the third and each
scored. Jason Meyers added a base hit and scored twice for the Red Raiders.
Fairport pounded out 19 hits on the day.
Atkinson and Ammons combined to pitch the shutout.
