About the Character-
Exotica is one of the Tribe’s most mysterious Jellicles. In fact, she is so rarely seen that several people think she is one of Macavity’s spies! Exotica is only seen in the CATS Video Production, and is what is known as a ‘Swing.’ A ‘Swing’ is a stand-in for one or several scenes in a musical. Sometimes they are added to balance out the singing, and sometimes they are added because another dancer is needed. Whatever the reason, Exotica is seen in several of the songs in the CATS Video. She isn’t seen with any other Cats, so her relatives are undefined. She looks vaguely like Cassandra, the Siamese, when in her black costume. Exotica has two different costumes for the Video. Usually, she is seen in a very plain, black costume. In ‘Skimbleshanks,’ however, she is seen briefly wearing a brown and yellow costume. Exotica is of medium to tall height, with a medium build. Her age is clearly undefined, though she looks to be about 25-30 human years old.
About the Actor-
The actress who plays Exotica should have a background in dance and singing. Being a ‘Swing,’ the actress is only be seen for several scenes, making it a very low-key role.
