Boo Forever....

Oooh ahhh, Martin Carr. Oh yes, our Martin, likes his booze and writes some great tunes.

One of the few Shoegazing bands not to come out of the Thames Valley, but actually from Liverpool, the Boos started their career with a mini-album called "Ichabod and I". I´ve never heard it actually, but people have told me I haven´t missed much.

I absolutely love their first few EPs, although most people would say they´re a bit dull, but a song like "Kaleidoscope" I will love until my dying day. Their first album "Everything´s alright forever" already hinted at the diversity they would show with their later releases.

But it was only with second album "Giant Steps" that they finally got the press they deserved, the album being called a milestone etc. etc. It was in a way, but sometimes they seemed to be trying too hard.

And the rest is..well, history. "Wake up, boo", an album where they finally got something right, then blowing it again with "C´mon Kids" and returning with "Kingsize". What a band!

And now they´re gone... *sob* ..... what´s the next step gonna be? Kevin Shields announcing his retirement from the music world? It really is a shit world we live in......

What the press said:

about Giant Steps, Select September 1993: "... it´s the best album since Automatic For The People and you should play it over and over until your nipples drop off."
