Song of the week 13/99
Right, song of the week is My Bloody Valentineīs "Soon", probably one of the best known songs of the era. Years later it was even included on a "Madchester Rave On" compilation album, surely some mistake ;)
The only song on Loveless with a "proper" beat and about 7 minutes long itīs never boring, although it only consists of two parts basically: the one with the strange guitar sound and the other one with the singing. Iīve joined the MBV mailing list a couple of weeks ago and it seems the people there donīt like the Andrew Weatherall remix of "Soon" cos itīs too "hands in the air, let me hear you say yeeaaahhhh", but I like it and play it pretty often when I DJ. Well, you canīt please everybody, I guess.
Oooops, nearly forgot to do one this week, cos I was so busy setting up the mailing list (come on, join!). Anyway, what should we have this week then? ;)
