A sky of jade in the ruby moonlight
Behold all the truths caressing our sight
For what we once sought, so close at hand,
Is now just a glacier in some winter land
We outstretched our arms for Heaven's lament
And walked on despite the painful torment
We drank of the water where nothing was pure
Wishing magical fault would open the door
While dangling from smiles which never were ours
Just cosmetic makeup to cover our scars
We came to a lake where faerie folk played
A mystical place where we should have stayed
But, raising our heads , we continued the quest
Claiming happiness comes, not by chance, but as tests
Yet if we look in the sky at the ruby moonlight
We remember the lake and smile that night
