Information about the Wu-Tang
The background of the name
The Wu-Tang Clan was an ancient gang of rebels in southeast of Asia.
The clan was founded by a monk from the Shaolin temple.Shaolin was an old
religion, practised by monks and lead by the Abbott. The monk had gone through
all the 35 chambers in the art of Kung-Fu. Each chamber equals an aspect of
fighting. It´s also a death point of the human body.He who mastered all the
chambers was considered invincible to everyone but his fellow masters. However,
the monk wanted to start a 36th chamber, but because of tradition the abbott
said no. The monk left the temple and started to teach a deadly art of fighting
which was to be called the Wu-Tang Sword. Somehow the clan vanished but the
legend says that it one day will rise again and reach it´s final goal, to
control the universe.
There is also another aspect of the name. Every word can be broken down into
letters to form another meaning. Therefore Wu-Tang also stands for We Usually
Take A Niggas Garment and Witty Unpredictable Talent And Natural Game.

Among the tracks he appears on is "Triumph", the lead song. The other songs featuring
him is "For Heavens Sake", "Maria", "Little Ghetto Boys" and "Heaterz".
Lyrical techniques and expressions
The Clan often use a mathematic technique in their lyrics. It means that each letter can be
replaced by a number. A=1, B=2 and so on. A good example of this is Method Man
in the song "Mr Sandman" on his album Tical where he says this rhyme: Peace to
the number seven, (7=G=God) Everybody else get the four-nine-three-eleven. (D-I-C-K)
As you probably already have read, words can also be broken down into letters to get a new meaning.
Cream is a perfect example of that and means Cash Rules Everything Around Me.
Besides of Shaolin being the temple where Wu-Tang began the Clan could also mean Staten Island
when they speak about Shaolin. In "Can It Be All So Simple" from "Enter the Wu-Tang" there ia a good
example of that: Started of on a island, a.k.a. Shaolin.
Wu-Gambinos

names. All the Wu-gambino names on the members page.
