Thomas Wilkins is my earliest ancestor who married Elizabeth Maggs of Radstock Somerset in the parish church in February 1794 they had the following George Jan 1795.Samuel 1797.James 1799.Mary 1803.Maria 1805.ann 1808.Thomas 1811.joyce 1813.all baptised St Nicholas Radstock.Samual my Gt.Gt.Grandfather Married Elizabeth Maggs at St Nicholas Radstock Sept 17 1829. all the menfolk were coalminersSamual and Elizabeth had seven childrenJohn my Gt.
Grandfather.Maria.Emma.Ann.Elizabeth died of measles at 7yrs Sarah. then Elizabeth.John moved from the Somerset Coalfield up to the north of England to the Durham CoalfieldHe had Married Elizabeth Button at Radstock and had five children with Elizabeth my Grandfather George James.Sarah Ann. both at SomersetJohn Isaac.Samuel.Brancepeth Durham.Thomas Henry.Chester-Le-Street Durham and Richard John.Burnley Lancashire when the family had moved to the Burnley Coalfield having been evicted from his minining cttage at Brancepeth ! by Lord Londonderry the mine owner.My Grandfather was George James who had eight children of whom Edwin was my Father in 1936. at Burnley.
