Contact: grumpys@tpg.com.auI am searching for any info on WILKINS family members from the towns of Purton, Cricklade & Lydiard Millicent - pre 1852, in particular.
So far I have Richard WILKINS bc 1769, married Mary ARCHER 6/2/1790.
They had 9 children:1/ Thomas b 1790 - m Elizabeth Large. 2/ James b 1793 - m Martha Speck, 3/ Charles b 1794, 4/ John b 1796 - m Hannah,5/ Richard b 1798, 6/ Mary b 1799, 7/ Isaac b 1802, m 1 Sarah GARLICK - 25/8/1825 2 Anne SUDDRELL - 4/7/1839 (Cricklade, Wiltshire) 8/ William b 1806.
My main interest is Isaac WILKINS - my gggrandfather - he had 5 children with his first wife Sarah GARLICK - 1/ Mary Ann b 1886, 2/ Jesse b 1828, Amos b 1830, 4/ Elizabeth b 1832, 5/ Mary b 1836 - d 1836. None of these children came to Australia.
Children with his second wife Anne SUDDRELL 1/ Emily b 1840, Roseanna (Rose H) b 1841, Jubal George b 1844, John Savoury b 1847, Alfred b 1850 (my ggrandfather) Mary b 1851.
They came to South Australia in 1852, my problem is I can't find any records of the birth of Jubal, John, Alfred and Mary. I presume they must have left Cricklade after Roseanna's birth in 1841.
Any help or suggestions gratefully recieved.
