Locate a Cemetery

USGS National Mapping Information When using this form, on the first blank fill-in the "name" of the cemetery you are interested in, then fill-in "state".. If you want just all cemeteries in a particular county, then leave "name" blank. In the "features" blank, you fill-in the word "cemetery". Then click "send query". Once you reach the location map, you may "zoom" for a closer look at the vicinity. Note: USGS maps do not show cemeteries that are smaller then 50'squared.

Tombstone Transcription Project

A very worthwhile project. Record tombstone data in a cemetery near where you live to be added to The USGenWeb Project Archives. There is a registry, by state and county, of individuals and groups who plan to record cemetery data for the project. That registry is available for viewing here ( Visit the Registry Page), so that everyone can see which cemeteries are being recorded and who is doing that transcribing.
