Thomas W. Wikins enlisted at Bourbon, Marshall County, Indiana at the age of 34 in Co' J, 151st Infantry, on 14 January 1865 during the 300,000 men callup. He was mustered in at LaPorte, for one year on 3 Feb. 1865. He was 6 ft 2 inches tall. It would appear he received a bounty to enlist because of his age at time of enlistment, $100.00 to be paid one third at a time. He was sent to a hospital at Nashville, IN., on 29 July 1865. He was not mustered out with his unit but had an individula musterout due tto his hospitalizaton and was mustered out 21 Aug; 1865.

I have a copy of his enlistment papers. I also have a copy of the Adjutant General's Office enlistment record. I have a copy of his request for a pension.
