Jacqueline’s Junque
Late at night, as I drift off to sleep
To a place where I have no control
I often find you waiting for me
With arms stretched out to console.
For there within the cloudy mist
Without our daily routines
You hold me tight, and whisper words
Of just what this all means.
We laugh and share together
All the things that bring us joy,
The love that lives in darkness
That the daylight seems to destroy.
For as the sunlight beckons us
To open up our eyes,
Our arms once more are empty,
And we silence our lovers sighs.
So with that smile on your lips
As you lay down so peacefully
Within the solace of the night
Do you dream of me?
