Jacqueline’s Junque
Your touch still warm upon my skin,
Your kiss still moist upon my lips
Your fragrance still within the air
Your touch on my fingertips.
The last sweet notes of our song
Floating softly in the air
The feeling of the gentle wind
Still blowing through my hair.
But the time has already passed
Leaving just a memory
Of one wonderful magical moment
When you belonged to me.
Turning towards tomorrow,
To rise again with dawn,
Taking nothing but a memory
Believing now ... you're gone.
I reach out and touch the petals
Of the single velvet rose
It's fragrance fills my nostrils
As I lift it to my nose.
Allowing it to caress my cheek
Which once pressed next to yours
When I believed I found a love,
Which though all time endures.
Turning out at last the light,
My heart again withdrawn,
Behind the walls that shelter it
Believing now... you're gone.
