Different Roads

Title of Your Page

Jacqueline’s Junque

I shared with you at one time,
Some of the best days I ever had.
Even the ones that hurt my heart,
And left me low and sad.
The nights I had your shoulders wet,
As I cried out my tears.
The days when I felt strong again,
Because you eased my fears.
But someplace along this path
We took a different turn,
That is when my heart for you
Lost it's passionate burn.
I think about you sometimes
And what it was we shared,
Why things changed so suddenly,
And we no longer seemed to care.
We found ourselves traveling
Along a different road,
No longer needing the other one,
To help us carry our load.
Knowing we could not turn back
And reach into the past,
To find the love we once were sure
Would for all time last.
I think about you now and then,
And whisper your sweet name
But nothing I can ever do
Will make those things the same.
So it is easier to not think about
What might have taken place,
I simply hold warm memories
Of your gentle loving face.
