Be There

Jacqueline’s Junque

No matter how high I have flown
You've been there for me.
Reaching out with that safety net,
Knowing at times I do not see.
The dangerous ground beneath,
And just where I might land.
Letting me go as far as I can,
Yet with your outstretched hand.
Willing to catch me when I need
If I should ever fall,
Then lifting me back up again
To help me feel so tall.

Because of you I am not facing
A moment I feel alone
Surging ever higher,
Knowing there would still be home.
A place where I can lay my soul
And take a needed rest,
From things that hurt my heart
In my lifelong search and quest.
To find answers that I have to
About where I need to be
To capture my true happiness
And set my spirit free.

For I seek a special wisdom
That will reach me deep inside
And I pray that you will be there
Should I need a place to hide.
For I may not find that beauty
In the places that I go.
And only ugly lonliness
But this I need to know.
So be there for me, darling
Just in case I crash and burn.
There may not be another place
This angel can ever turn.
