| One thousand years ago, the Moon Kingdon was at peace. The people of the moon celebrated and danced at Queen Serenity's palace every night. Queen Serenity was their wise and beautiful ruler who was raising her daughter Princess Serena to follow in her footsteps. Princess Serena was happy, but she often found herself staring at the Earth. She had fallen in love with Prince Darien from there. For a brief time they were happy. One day, without warning, the evil Queen Beryl from the Negaverse led her soldiers and the people of Earth against the Moon Kingdom. Even though he was from Earth, Prince Darien swore to defend the Moon Kingdom. Before he went off to battle Serena gave him a star locket. |  |

The battle was tough. The Sailor Scouts, Princesses of their plants and members of Serena's court, fought hard but were defeated. Queen Serenity tried to hold the attack off, but the majority of the Moon Kingdom was destroyed. Prince Darien and Princess Serena were sucked away by Beryl and were killed. |
Queen Serenity only had one choice left. Taking the Crescent Moon Wand and the Imperium Silver Crystal she sealed everyone inside. Serena, Darien and the Scouts were sealed too. Queen Serenity was quickly dying as a result of using so powerful a crystal. Her final act was to send everyone to a new future on Earth. Luna and Artemis, the Queen's trusted cat advisors, were sent as well. Should the evil break free they would awaken Sailor Moon and the Scouts to defend the ways of love and justice. . .
