The scene opens on a simple grey house. Nothing really special about this place, no one important to the story lines lives here. I just thought you might like to see where I live. Back in Dominica, the camera shows a view of a three-storied cerulean blue house. The front lawn is nicely kept, and a little garden is located off to the right side and wraps around to the back of the house. The property is outlined by a shiny, silver chain-link fence, and small Japanese red maples stand on either side of the house, offering shade on hot summer days. Welcome to La Casa Alan. The camera pans down the grey-cement sidewalk to the front porch, and through the front door. An argument is brewing inside, as usual, and we find the fighters in the kitchen. It's Tiffany and David hollering at each other, debate-style. First, Tiffany screams a point and throws a vegetable at David. Then comes David with the rebuttal, both verbal and vegetable. God knows *what* they're arguing about now, but it seems to be that Tiffany wants a popsicle for dinner, but David says that she needs to grow up and eat real food. Tiffany tosses a tomato towards her older brother, but he ducks and off-camera, a splat and a loud sigh are heard. The camera turns around, as do David and Tiffany, and Divad is seen, tomato pulp dripping off of his face. He walks calmly to the sink and rinses the tomato *which is actually a fruit, by the way* off of his face. He turns around, drying his face, and muffles are heard from underneath the towel.
David: "What?"
Divad: (taking the towel away from his face) "I said, 'At least you're not throwing cans of soup at each other anymore.'"
Tiffany: "Oh, we just did that because we didn't have any potatoes laying around…God, Divad, don't you forget about anything? Didn't your therapist tell you that you needed to let go of the past?"
Divad: "I…" sighs "Never mind. It's not even worth it anymore. You two clean this mess up; I'm going to take a bath. Just put my dinner in the fridge when it's done."
David: "What do we look like? Your slaves? We cook dinner while the master takes a bubble bath?" Sarcastically "Oh, yes, mastah…we cooka dinnah for you! Make it all…ouch!"
Tiffany kicks David several more times in the shin, then turns to Divad.
Tiffany: "Sure, Divad. We're having spaghetti and meatballs tonight. I'll make sure that we save you some. Have a nice bath, and holler if you need anything."
Divad: "Thanks, Tiffany."
Divad shuffles out of the kitchen towards the steps to take his bath.
David: (to Tiffany) "How come you're never that nice to me?"
Tiffany: "Coz I hate you. Now, come on start boiling water for the noodles. I'm going to clean up this mess."
The pair start doing their respective tasks, silently at first, but soon another argument erupts and peace in the Alan household is broken once again.
The camera fades to black then comes up again in the middle of a forest. A bonfire is raging and blue, green, and orange sparks shoot out of it towards the night sky. A shadowy figure is seen dancing around the fire and tossing what appear to be pine cones into the flames. The shadow is laughing and chanting a spell in a foreign language. Suddenly, the word "Jonathan" is heard repeated over and over while multi-coloured flames shoot out of the fire.
Quick cut to Jonathan, now at the ball with his date, the lovely Andrea. The pair are walking up the steps towards the building when all of a sudden, the heel on Jonathan's right pump breaks, causing him to trip.
Jonathan: "Son of a bitch! Crappy cheap pumps!"
Andrea helps her date to sit down. He is rubbing his ankle moodily, all the while, trying to keep his legs closed in the awkward position.
Jonathan: "I think it's sprained…"
Andrea: "Here, let me take a look at it…"
Quick cut back to the chanting shadow, who is chanting and dancing faster and louder in its foreign language. Then, more rapid chanting of "Jonathan" while throwing pine cones into the fire.
Quick cut back to Jonathan, who is holding onto his finger.
Jonathan: "Shit! I just broke a nail!"
More chanting is heard as an echo and out of nowhere, a torrential downpour lets loose over the place where Jonathan and Andrea are. The lovable lumberjack looks up towards the heavens and screams a loud curse that you aren't allowed to say on television. Andrea helps him up and together they hobble back to Jonathan's car, with Andrea driving. The rain clouds follow the automobile down the street and off the screen, a mad, nasally laughter heard in the distance.
