Today's set is based on an anime/manga called
Gunnm or Battle Angel Alita. I was sorta lost on
what to
do this week until I went hunting around other
free anime graphic sites, one in particular
caught my eye
daydreamgraphics.com in the tabled set section.
That's where I got the neat idea to do the funky
banner
design and this neat table layout. The set is
really just based on the layout with only 2
pieces
(I scrapped a mouse over idea), but I think it's
rather lovely none the less.
Starting
with a blank canvas in photo impact use the line
tool to hand draw your banner shape then with
nothing selected use the paint brush to fill it
in with a lighter color. Then using the magic
wand tool I selected
my newly colored area. For this next bit you will
need a plug in program called Eye Candy 4000 from
Alien
skin. In the effects menu click on eye candy then
click on "weave" when the dialog box
comes up set the
weave pattern to look more like a grid and have
the fill color set to something darker than the
color you
just painted in, and just play around with it
until it looks right to you then hit okay. Now,
with the newly
gridded area still selected you want to use your
paint brush tool to clean up the parts that
spilled over the
edges of your outline. Don't worry you won't lose
any of the outline while still in photoimpact.
Repeat the
above steps to make your link area background.
Now you will need to open your anime pic or what
have
you for the corner of the banner. With both
images open use the clone brush to apply the
anime pic over the
banner. Remember to pick a point on the outside
of the image to apply it in exactly the space you
want it.
Now you're done!
