Central Bowl Seven spindles brush the clouds -- quite literally -- overhead, a jagged, spired cotillion grey-stoned majesty. The bowl from here is expansively large, extending a full half mile in both directions, and although sometimes a bit of a stretch, most of the hubs of activity can be easily observed. Hard-packed ground shows the common pathways, all of them meandering about the craggy bunch of boulders that form a centerpiece: carven, hand-worn and foothold-full, it gives a bit of centerpoint to the otherwise vast emptiness of the area. To the north lie the hatching grounds and leadership weyrs, while the lows of herdbeasts mark the feeding pens to the northeast. A flurry of ever-present activity marks the living caverns to the west, and another time-traveled path the ground weyrs just adjacent to the southwest. Southeast, a glint of blue shows the lake, glittering and cold. It is a spring midmorning. Clinging to footholds in the boulder-mound are Zhaneel, Vanitas, Kya, Miki, Antietam, Tremayne, Rydia, Panha, Izyndyl, Immie, Archimedes, Maksim, and Lihai. Blue Trydanth, green Kelitath, brown Sevareth, green Miravith, green Yshanth, and green Alymath are here. You see a wagonmaster and Wagon One here. Tai is here. Obvious exits: Pens Northern Bowl Caverns Ground Weyrs Lakeside Guards HQ You slide down Puizuth's neck of variegated browns, using offered forepaw of dark brown as a step. Tai (#13940) What was once white was bronze and is white again; skin's been sun-starved and has therefore gone pale, alabaster creaminess claiming skin save around ears and cheeks, where reddish bronzes still lurk. Yet, she's managed to hold onto a memento of Istan sunshine; those red highlights have remained. Crismon'd, strawberry'd tones sweep forth, claiming wispy tendrils that have been trimmed, tamed, now curling delicately o'er tops of shoulders, barely sweeping the tops of 'blades. Work-roughened hands still hold mysterious, dark aristocracy, as do slender arms, muscled legs. Womanly curves have become all the more evident, especially as style-of-dress alters. Eyes gaze -- azure, sapphire pools of sight, clear and laced with a silv'ry lining. Cool breezes have enticed the rider to cover her lean arms; a green tunic hugs her torso lightly, revealing with its clinging fabric all that it otherwise conceals. Sleeves flare out in wispy bells over pale hands and the hem of the verdant tunic clings all the way down her front, leading almost seamlessly into the characteristic black wherhide pants and black boots. A double cord of black'n blue - obsidian'n midnight - loops twice in a brand new knot that's complete with a long tail and two tassles. A slender ribbon of earthy green weaves through, reminiscent of the color of Tai's lifemate Yshanth, and it's all brought together by the Tsunami patch and a wispy gold thread - Tai is Wingleader of the Tsunami Wing at High Reaches Weyr. She is awake and looks alert. Tai is 24 Turns, 2 months, and 23 days old. Zai (#16905) Short, sienna colored curls are chopped short, held back from Zai's face with an ever-changing assortment of hair clips. Misbehaving tendrils escape from their ties, to hang in her face, or stick out wildly. Her skin is tanned a deep golden color, from hours spent outside, and freckles liberaly dot her pert nose, and sweep across her high cheekbones. Long and dark lashes surround her sapphire eyes, so pale they edge on an icy-white hue at times. Small and lithe describes Zai, although by no means petite. Arms and legs are short, but muscular, ending with small hands in feet and long, deft fingers. Despite her turns, Zai's subtle curves remain mostly hidden under the muscle of her upper body. A twist of blue and black thread holds Zai's hair back on either side of her face, the colors matching those of the rest of her outfit. Royal blue shirt hugs her body, snug but not to tight. Sleeves of the shirt cuff and button at the wrists, the buttons themselves a midnight black. Over Zai's right breast, a small pocket is sewn, and on the edge of it a row of dolphins are embroidered, the same royal blue as the shirt. Pants appear from below the shirt, which is belted at her waits with a black weyrhide belt. Black as well, they cling to her legs until they disappear into her ankle-length, weyrhide boots. Boots dyed the same black as belt and pants. A thin chain is about her neck, and on it is a silver, heart shaped locket. Double twisted, and single looped, Zai's knot hold one strand of blue, and another of black -- the colors of High Reaches. Threaded into the twist, a single strand of brown runs -- the color of Zai's lifemate. She is wearing a silver chain bracelet with the Apprentice charms. She is awake and looks alert. Carrying: LlamaPhin You notice Zai looking at you. Zai is 21 Turns, 7 months, and 18 days old. Tai has just swung down from Yshanth's back, and balances faintly, lightly grasping the straps, for a moment before her feet settle down firmly upon the earth. She pulls off gloves and helmet both, hanging them on Yshanth's straps and reaching a hand up to flatten her lightly frizzing hair. A smile's shot towards the approaching brownrider, a hand lifted cheerily. "Hello!" she calls good-naturedly. Zai slides to the ground, giving Puizuth a pat before turning toward away and starting to head toward the caverns. As she sees Tai she stops and smiles, waving back. "Hullo!" Diverting her path to the caverns slightly, she walks closer to the greenrider with a short glances thrown over her shoulder toward Puizuth who has quickly forgotten his rider for an intrestingly colored rock on the ground. Tai smiles cheerily as the brownrider approaches, tugging quietly at the hem of her pants - you know, those leather things ride up and all. "How're you, Zai, and... oh dear, I'm getting old... Puizuth. It's Puizuth." There is no question - she remembers now, and there is a hint of sparkling mischief twinkling in the corners of her eyes. Puizuth pays no attention to the greenrider, too involved now in deciding which rock's colors would go best with his weyr. Zai though, grins. "Puizuth, yes. And we're wonderful." She reaches up to tug on a curl in an attempt to remember /Tai's/ dragons's name. "And how are ou and...Yshanth...?" Tai grins approvingly, one eye lowering in a teasing wink. "That's it all right. We're lovely. Went for a nice morning flight and now we're rather unwinding." One eyebrow arches in faint appraisal for a moment, and then the greenrider tips her head towards the caverns. "Want to join me in a drink of something or other?" Zai's smile broadens, and hand drops from her hair as she glances toward the caverns. "Sure, I was headed there myself actually. Although there were no morning flights for me. Puizuth's lazy in the mornings." /Sure/, blame it on the dragon. Tai's grin is rather kind and welcoming... and toothy, too. "Yshanth's an early-riser. She's usually up for the sunrise. It's funny - she used to wake me up for it, but recently I've gotten up on my own in time to see it. I never /used/ to be a morning person." Shrug. This is a testament to how much Impression can change even the laziest of herders. "But now I'm thirsty." And with that, the wingleader heads into the caverns, Zai hopefully in tow. Tai lilts, with a light step, to the Caverns. You go to the Living Caverns. Living Caverns (#392) The rough-hewn majesty of this cavern far outpaces any delight in the multitudes of curves that form its enclosure. The glabrous grey granite is shot through with translucent obsidian, lending subtly-veined sparkle to the walls and the foot-trodden smoothness of the floor that shows centuries-old placements of the scarred trestle tables; carven hollows give homes for the glow baskets and the coat-pegs that line the walls. No mosaics, no painting, no tiles: just a few well-done tapestries mark the pathway that lead to the kitchen to the north and the inner caverns to the west, and frame the nighthearth's stew and snacks, while a heavier strip of oiled canvas shields the unwary from the wind in the bowl. Tucked into a glowlit niche are Donnan, Laguna, Searcher, Smirk, Quenn, Torowa, Kynance, Tiramisu, Gyo, Butterfly, Turk, Kobar, Fudge, Seafoam, Parekis, Pixy, Heaven, Beats, Hunter, Vsevolod, Ivan, Pandora, and Oren. You see Old Auntie sit-by-the-fire, Saphron, OOC NOTICE (look sign), Food, Boots, Creme, Dustina, and Klah Cake here. Khloe, Marianne, and Tai are here. Obvious exits: Bowl Kitchens Inner Caverns Crafting Area Marianne sweeps yet farther into the caverns, her easy stride bringing her a few feet from the girl, er.. Khloe. She eyes her, noting her knot of a Weyr resident with quick eyes, so quick that you almost don't see her look. Nodding lazily, but politely to Khloe she introduces herself. "I give you greetings, good day, and every other hello people think polite," she says mildly, but with a hint of exhaustion in her voice. She's had a long day. "My name is Marianne," she adds with a quiet, tired dignity and looks around for somewhere to rest her aching feet. Zai slips in moments after Tai, wandering toward a mug and some juice and pouring it into a handy mug. Pausing for a moment at the table, she calls over to Tai. "What do you want? I'll pour it for you..." Hand hovers over another mug as she waits for a response, sapphire eyes flickering around the cavern in the meantime. Tai ooos, eyebrows raised with pleasant surprise. "Ooh, thank you! If there's hot tea, that would be just marvelous. If not, juice will do." The greenrider sinks into one of her normal tables, crossing her legs neatly under her and pushing her hair back cheerily with a smile to everyone about her. Today is a Good Day! Zai turns her attention back to the table, searching for tea. "Tea, tea, tea..." she mutters as she looks, finally finding some and pouring it into a second mug. Picking her way over to the table Tai's chosen, eyes stay locked on the mugs. Careful not to slip a hot drop. Sliding the glasses onto the tables, she takes a seat across from the rider. Tai beams cheerily at the brownrider, one eyebrow lifted in a faint thank you that's vocalized: "Thanks, Zai." She takes a long sip of the tea, steam curling ridiculously around her nose. "Lovely. Good." There's a pause as she exhales deeply, eyes closing for a moment - and then she smiles, lucid once more, at the still-weyrling. "Have you folks graduated yet? I can't remember." Zai just blinks at the greenrider, due to the fact that her mug of juice is still attached to her lips. As she swallows, she lowers th glass and nods. "Yes. Just recently. I haven't joined a wing yet though. I can't believe how fast it's all gone. It seems like I just Impressed a sevenday ago." At that, she grins crookedly getting that silly, adoring expression on her face that she often adopts when speaking of her dragon. Tai's grin deepens, little creaselines etching at the corners of her eyes. "Oh, I understand /that/, all right." The greenrider dramatically lifts one slender eyebrow as high as it will lift, grin reduced to a mere half-smile. "Not yet tapped?" Khloe glances from Zai, to bulging bag on the floor, and back to Zai again, and a smil crosses her face before she says, "Hi." Then it's back to the usual thumb-twiddling that she was doing before...with that grin, of course. Odd. Zai shakes her head absently as she peers into her glass with a slight frown. "Nope, not yet. You know? I think this juice was mislabeled. It does /not/ taste like redfruit." She wrinkles her nose and pushes the glass to the side. Looking up, she notices Khloe and smiles, "Hullo," before her gaze travels back to Tai and her mind back to her origional topic of conversation. "I'm not sure when I will be actually." Tai grins, then, that twinkle of mischief returning to dwell in her blue eyes. "Oh, really?" There is nothing special to this comment, though; a cheery grin's angled Khloe's way, eyebrows lifted, before she turns back to Zai. "Excited about joining a wing?" Zai beams and nods. "I am! Not that I didn't like Aftershock -- thats the weyrling wing you know -- but thats different. Plus, half of us are gone anyway. Tapped into their wings and all." She tilts her head a bit and peers at Tai. "How long did it take you? I don't want to be the last one. Tapped that is." Tai reaches a hand rather mysteriously into her pocket, pulling something out which she cradles in the curve of her palm. "Only a few weeks. And it shouldn't take you any longer, either, Zai. Why don't you take this," and she slides the object, a badge with a virulent crest of water skimming across its surface, "and show up for Tsunami drills tomorrow morning?" Zai blinks at the badge for a moment, then reaches out a hand to take it. "Uh..." She manages, as she turns the object over to examine it. "Thanks! Of course!" She looks up at Tai and beams brightly, turning to the first person she spots -- Khloe -- to share the news. "Look! Tsunami! Isn't it wonderful!?" Tai grins widely, that eyebrow wiggled faintly at Khloe. She's just a troublemaker, ain't she? The wingleader sips her tea, mildly, making a mental note or two. "Oh, Zai? You and Puizuth had better get used to mornings," she offers, grinning rather mischeviously now. "We like to get up rather early for drills in my wing." Oooh, evil Tai. "Not before /breakfast/ or anything," she adds as though /that/ would be a scandal. "But early, anyway." Khloe grins, examining the badge thrust in front of her. "That's nice...really great!" she says, fingering her goodie bag, or, rather, something inside of it. "Congrats!" And what is it she's holding...something...brown? Zai wrinkles her nose at Tai, brought back to the real world with a screach. "Wonderful. Morning." Hastily, she adds, "Not that its a problem for /me/, but Puizuth. He's not going to like it." Um-hum. Yup. Tai pauses, eyes sliding into brief unfocus. "I think Yshanth will be able to persuade him," she says meaningfully - but what meaning that might be is rather unclear. Oh well. Zai raises an eyebrow, but just nods. "Erm, right." She glances back down at her badge which she is fingering absently for a moment, then reaches up to attach it to her knot. "Thank you so much!" Tai grins - again - toothily, nodding cheerily. "Oh, you're welcome. I'm sure you'll be an asset to Tsunami. I've seen you and Puizuth, after all." Beam. Zai isn't quite as sure -- /being/ Zai and Puizuth and all -- but she'll do her best. "I hope so. I'll try to be anyway." And at that, she stands. "Well, I should go show Puizuth our new badge. I'll see you tomorrow....morning!" The last bit, morning, is added with a slight hint of dread in it. Tai laughs, squinting slightly with a giggle. "Have fun. And I promise you'll get used to training in the morning."
