March 31, 2006. I have been coming to Lilly for years and never used this bridge. A fellow railfan from UK introduced me to it. Mick and I spent the afternoon on the bridge.

East bounder eases through the village of Lilly toward Altoona.
Around noon is a good time to shoot here because the line is close to
East-West at this point. The signal bridge is catchy too. These shots are
from October 21, 2000.

West bound freight heads toward Johnstown and Pittsburg. Lilly has
a detector so you have some help. NS has changed the detectors. They now call
the mile posts and not the location.

West bound Amtrak hurries through the East side of Lilly. This was
a great weekend for photos. The weather was perfect. But we were about a week
late on the leaves. 10/21/00

West bound coal drag passes our spot with a Conrail Dash-8 on the
headend. We kept bumping into the same railfans all weekend at most spots
we chose. This is one of the few spots we had to ourselves.

this weekend as opposed to October when we saw very few. This set was shot
