(With the group up in Head’s room the group continues to discuss the name of their elite group)
-Head “ Yea, I like that name “Rave” I think we should call ourselves the 4 Horsemen. – Angel “ I don’t know, but I guess that’ll work for right now.” –Clyde “ Now that we got that behind us, we need to figure out who is going to be our manager and what label we want to sign us. –Angel “ I think before we get ahead of ourselves we need to set up a practice demo, to see what type of sound we have. –Head “ Yea, you’re right we need to combine our talents and see what we have to offer to the world. But where can we go to set up a demo session. – Rave “ My uncle has a small time studio and he lets me make one song demos at his place but he charges me a hundred bucks for a half hour. – Angel “ That’s cool, I think I can help kick out some money for it, if you guys will help kick out the rest. –Head “ ok, everybody tomorrow is our first appointment with our dream.”
(As the group starts to disband, Head goes into a deep thought. Head’s thought: “ I can’t believe it, my dream is starting to come true. I have a feeling that this is the one moment in my life were nothing else matters, only my music. But what if Clyde’s right about “Rave” what if he’s not reliable when it comes to the group. Maybe Angel’s bother’s right about him.”
(The next day as the group meets at Head’s house)
- Angel “ Hey “Rave” where is your uncle’s studio?” – Rave “ it’s located downtown on the corner of fifth and Jackson St. So how much money do we have together, so my uncle won’t start giving me that speech about how life revolves around money” - Clyde “ I have a friend that can give us a ride downtown.” –Head “ Hey let’s go!”
(As the group walks into the studio, they see an old man walking up smoking a Black and Mild.)
- Old Man “ Hey you dumb ass kids, get out of my studio. This isn’t no hangout spot for you and your tramp girlfriend kid.” – Rave “ Hey uncle, we need to cut a real demo in your studio, so we can send it out to this manager type guy to sign us to his management company. – Head “hey “Rave” do you think we can cut a real demo in this place? It looks real small and I haven’t seen anyone come in since we’ve been here. –Old Man “ So “Rave” what’s the name of this group? You’re not with that old group of yours “silence.” –Head “ you were with “Silence? So what happen? I heard that you guy’s were signed to Evan Masters, the promoter for Broke-House Ent. Then I heard, that you guy’s weren’t good enough for any major label and he dropped you. –Rave “ Yea, I was with “Silence” and we made the mistake like all new groups, when we signed with a Jackass like Evan Masters. They called him “The Beaver”, this guy didn’t give a damn about our music or us. He was in it for the money, our money. As we started doing local shows, he started causing problems for the group. He didn’t like me much, and got the group to replace me. So the day, when it was time for their audition at the chance to be signed, the new guy they got couldn’t play my part of the song and they got dropped. See I always create a part in every song I do so sharp, that it’s hard to play.
– Angel “ That’s good to know, now we know that we shouldn’t sign with Broke-House Ent. Or Evan Masters. –Old Man “ So are you guys ready to cut that demo? So who’s playing what here?” – Clyde “ Well we never really thought about it very much.” – Old Man “ Ok, lets begin everybody. (While the group is getting ready, uncle tells Rave that this group has a very good chance of making it as long a they follow their dreams and their hearts. He also tells Rave that they can use his studio for four extra hours.)
(As the clocks strike 4:00pm, the group starts to play endlessly and after a long four and a half hours. The group has finished a rough-cut four-song demo.)
-Angel “ That was great, but boy am I tired. I could go for a long nap.” – Rave “ Me and my uncle will be right back we’re going to put the finishing touches on the demo.” (As Rave and his uncle walk in the back of the studio) –Head “ I haven’t had a rush like that in years, I feel like partying.” – Clyde “ I feel like my hands are going to fall out. I can’t believe we only got four songs done. We must have rushed it, cause I thought we we’re only going to do one song. – Angel “ hey Clyde’s right, we only paid for a half hour, who’s going pay for the other four hours. – Head “ Maybe his uncle forgot.”
(With the clock striking 10:00pm, finally Rave and his uncle come out of a black room. In Rave’s uncle’s hand is a compact disk.)
Old Man “ Well here it is ladies and gentlemen, the first real demo for your group. By the way what is the name of your group?” –Angel “ They call us, sir “ The 4 Horsemen. –Old Man “ Well is that right now, well young lady I’m going to name this demo “ Four Ways from Hell.” And I took the pride of naming your songs:
1. Hell’s 4 Horsemen
2. Reincarnation
3. My thoughts
4. My thoughts “Drum solo”
“All songs written by The 4 Horsemen.”
(The Next day the group gathers at Head’s house)
- Clyde “ So who should we send the demo to? I hope we get a good manager who won’t screw us. – Head “ I’ve sent two demo’s out early this morning. I know I should have told you guys but I couldn’t sleep knowing that my dream was right in my fingertips. I made copies of it using my dad’s copier. I sent one, to Veronica Sparkles a promoter for Bankrup Management, and the other to Evan Masters at Broke-House Ent. I know I shouldn’t of sent one their but I have to know if we can really make it. We don’t have to take his offer, I just want to know if we can really make, like “Silence.” – Rave “ I know we can, cause we’re a lot better than “Silence” ever was.
(As the group watches the clock tick away. At 5:oopm, the group calls it quits for today and they all decide to go home and get on with their own lives. After Weeks of waiting, One day as Head was playing back old messages on his father’s answering machine,) “Hey this is Evan Masters at Broke-House Entertainment. I just got done listening to your demo, and I think your group is hot. I think that your group and I should sit down and have a talk about your group’s future in the music business, give me a call and lets set up a meeting.” (After hearing the message Head goes into a world of his own, I can’t believe it, he wants to really sign us. But what about what Rave said about this guy. By the time Head gets the group together to play back the message, he finds that there is another message) “ Hey this is Veronica Sparkles for Bankrupt Management, I loved your demo and the whole horsemen gimmick. I would love to set up a meeting to discuss a possible future with you joining our family. I think that your group has high chance of being signed to a major label through us.
