The 'Jacob Brent Guardian Angels' was created in February 1999. To understand what the JBGA, as members affectionately call it, stands for, you'll have to see what the Jacob Brent online community was like at that time. Back then, there were several large Jacob Brent websites and fan clubs, but all of them seemed to be devoted to Mr. Brent's appearance, rather than his talent. I established the JBGA as a "support group," rather than a fan club. This organization is filled with members who care a great deal about Mr. Brent's career, dancing, family life, singing, teaching... Practically every aspect of his life! And as a "support group," we are not simply a club full of crazy teenage girls who scream every time they see a new picture of Mr. Brent. We have members ranging from age 6 to well over age 60. We have female members and male members. We have members who are professional dancers or actors and members who are authors, graphic designers, and students. The one thing we all have in common is an honest respect for Jacob Brent. He has inspired us all in some small way.
The JBGA is based upon the theme of "guardian angels." Most people know what angels are, but if you're not sure, check a search engine or the dictionary. Our purpose is to support Jacob and protect or defend him from anyone who threatens him over the internet or does not show due respect for his privacy. Defending him does not mean that you can start up fights with other members or bash other people's favorite actors or dancers. If any member causes problems, he or she will be considered for removal from the JBGA. Once you are a member, you will receive many membership benefits- Weekly newsletters, the latest information about Jacob, the latest pictures of Jacob, access to the 'Members-Only' portion of the JBGA Website, access to the JBGA Forum, opportunities to participate in projects sent to Jacob, among other things. Above all, you will become a member of a community which is known for starting many friendships between members. Even if we are only fictional "guardian angels," our members are always there to help one another if a problem arises.
Perhaps the most unique thing about the JBGA is the opportunity to be a "keeper" of anything you like about Jacob. You can be a "keeper" of one of Jacob's personalities, dances, roles, outfits, friends, possessions... Practically anything, as long as it is nothing terribly personal. Please note that "keeperships" are *not* literal! Some people have taken this the wrong way and assume we're stalkers, which is far from the truth- It's all in good fun!
Over the years, the JBGA has quadrupled in size and far surpassed my own expectations! If you are a fan of Mr. Brent, are looking for a fun place to discuss his inspiration to you, and looking for friends, please consider joining the JBGA!
You will find more information about the JBGA throughout this section of the website. If you find one of your questions unanswered, please feel free to E-Mail Me!
