Joe's Skyline

Well I finished my Skyline Project. I aint the greatest Hobby person and this was my first project But it came out ok. So here are some pics I took. I painted it red and white,and also put some white on the windshield. I still need to clearcoat it,put some mesh in the grills,put the headlights and taillights in,and maybe and some decals. but its pretty much in the done stage.

Below are some mods I made to the body. The first is my custom wing i made. It didnt come out perfect but it looks ok. I took some plastic cut out the 2 side pieces then cut out a long piece for the middle. I used a lighter to bend it so thats why it didnt come out perfectly straight, But a drunk can only do so much. Then the second pic is where I used mad putty to flare out the back panel to make it look more like a fiberglass body. And in the back end is all filled in too. Then the final pic is the engine upgrade. Ed hooked me up with a Atomic tuned motor from Tamiya,and wired it in

THE START OF THE PROJECT

Well i couldnt find a cool body in any hobby stores to make for my mini-z, so i just modified my Skyline body.Here are some pictures of the stock skyline.

The first thing i did was cut some out of the front end. At this piont things were looking pretty good I cut the Air dams in the front first. Actually i just cut the center piece out to make it open more, the skyline needed more air to breathe. Then i cut out the center grill. i wanted to cut the bottom part,but thats where the front clip goes and i didnt wanna mess with that too much. Last thing i did was cut out some notches by the front bumber, so the brakes can get cold air.

After this things started going down hill. First i sanded down my door seams, door handle, and molding on door. Then i wanted to flare out the back end,to make it more flush and kinda like a race car. So i use mad putty to fill in the gap in the back. Things were ok so far. Then i had to go fuck with the back bumber and fill in the license plate,and trunk.Also you can see i sanded down the old post for the stock wing. I didnt sand it the best so when i primered it, it all showed.

Right now my car is FUCKED. I didnt sand the whole thing good enough,then i went and painted on top of the fucked up primer. So i had to wait for the thing to dry really good,and i had to sand off all the paint and primer. I just reprimered it and i should be able to repaint tomorrow.I also made a Big ass wing for the back, but i forgot to take a pic of it I'm also gonna put some mesh in the front grill and air dams. So thats were i'm at now.

Also all the blury pics was when i was drunk so try to look past that
