Introduction
South Carroll High School's
Biofilm Research Project has been organized by students taking
the Science Research course sequence. In these classes, students
design and complete a project of their choice. This project was
developed in coordination with the University of Maryland and the
Virtue project, a joint venture among schools in Maryland, Norway
and Sweden.
Our Objectives
Through involvement in the
Virtue Project and collaboration with other students throughout
the world, we hope to further our knowledge of biofilm formation
and water quality. We also wish to provide accurate data for
researchers and scientists interested in the health and
biodiversity of the Piney Run Watershed.
