All soaps are handmade using the cold process method in small controlled batches. The beneficial glycerine (a natural by product of the saponification process) stays in the final bar, unlike commercial soaps which have the glycerine "cooked" out.

No artifical pigments or hues are added, the color of the soaps are those provided by nature. For scent we use only pure essential oils, or high quality fragrance oils in our Kids Soaps. The soaps may vary slightly in color and fragrance from time to time since nature is not always predictable.

All batches are handcut, slight imperfections are to be expected.

Each batch is tested by family members before sale. Although my soaps are safe for use on animals I do not participate in animal testing.

I am often asked if this is "lye soap". Not in the sense most people think. "Yes" it is lye soap...but NOT the kind of lye soaps you remember your Grandmother making! Lye is an absolute necessity when creating ANY kind of soap. If you buy any soap in the supermarket you are buying "lye soap". The one thing you need to remember is OUR soaps do not contain lye when they are fully saponified. Each batch of soap is cured for four to six weeks to ensure the lye is fully evaporated. EVERY batch is tested before it is wrapped and presented to you.

Another misconception is that the "clear" soaps labeled "glycerine soap" are just that. Glycerine is a natural occuring product of the saponification process (the combining of lye and oils to create soap). The clear glycerine soap has been cooked, sugar and alcohol, usually vodka or ethyl, are added to make it clear. It has no more moisturizing benefits than the soap I make using the cold batch process.

In the commercial soap industry, the soap is "boiled" or "cooked" causing the glycerine to rise to the surface. It is then skimmed off and sold to the cosmetic industry. Minimal "softening" ingredients are then added. The Sensible Choice© soaps contain all naturally occuring glycerine, so your skin gets all the benefits, PLUS we add other emolients before it is molded. Our soap is not stripped of it's natural glycerin so it will also not absorb water like the commercial soaps. The end result is a soap that last longer, treats your skin to all its natural benefits and has ingredients you can pronounce!

Tallowate is purified ANIMAL FAT, Titanium Dioxide is a WHITENER)

Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Kernal Oil, Soybean Oil, Castor Oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Distilled Water, Fresh Goat Milk, Beeswax, Essential Oils, or Fragrance Oils.
