The start of another week
Mood:  caffeinated
Woke up this morning to frost and temperatures into 30's. Wasn't expecting it at all. Maybe if I had actually watched the news this weekend I might have been more prepared. It is suppose to get up into the 70's today so the cold will be short lived.

This weekend was fairly relaxing. I didn't do much. Friday night I went and tried a new restaurant with Tanya, her brother Andy, and my semi-date Kurt. We decided to try Vivace because everyone keeps talking about how good it is. The atmosphere was cool and relaxing. The food was okay but I thought overpriced. I would have rather gone to Firebirds or Taverna Agora. It was nice though just to hang out, drink some wine, and talk to friends. We decided that night to hit the Renaissance Festival again on Sunday because Kurt has never been to one. I think he really enjoyed himself. We went to one of the stage shows and he got pulled out of the audience to participate. It was hysterical.

This week should be a busy one for me. I have to go out sometime this morning to help our Forester do the burn plan for the 30 acres we are hoping to burn on Wednesday. This one will be a little scary for me because I haven't done a burn this big before. I also have 2 eagle nest to monitor. One of which has chicks so I am excited to see the baby eagles. I also have to work on getting the boat ready for summer use. I love busy weeks. Makes it go by faster.

Back to work!

Yeah I agree on the restuarant. I was nice to hang out with Kurt. He is a lot of fun. When does he go back to Texas?

Enjoyed the festival. I did get a little sunburned but it isn't bad.

Is semi-date the same as my pseudo-dates?

Sounds like you DO have a busy week. You planning on taking your camera out as you monitor the nests? Would be pretty cool to get some pics of the eagle chicks.

Well I would take my camera out but unfortunately we have to monitor the nests from about 100 ft away and even through my camera has a good zoom it is not able to reach that far. It would only look like a blob. We have a high powered monoscope that zooms in real close and I have tried to hook the camera up to it but even with the tripod is shakes too much to get a good picture. But I will write all about the chick in my journal and I think I have a good aerial photo of the nest.

I think he goes in a couple of weeks. He said it would be sometime after Easter. Yes he is a lot of fun and has no problem making a fool out of himself. LOL

Yes it is the same as a pseudo-date. He is with the National Guard and is only here for training. He is going back to Texas soon.

Well, at least he's fun to hang out with!

And I've been meaning to ask you... does Tanya give out the link to her blog? Ever since you mentioned you wrote some stuff in her space and stole her thunder, I've been curious.

It is a Yahoo Groups page dedicated to Pets. It is under construction at the moment. But I will let her know you want in the group when she puts it back up. She was getting a lot of "bots" in the chat room advertising dating sites and it was getting very annoying. She may switch it over to Angelfire but there is not a chat option available.

Sure it isn't a problem I will add her name to the list. I have been thinking of getting away from the pet thing. I got way too many weird people in the group. I am strongly thinking about switch it something like your page but I hate to give up the chat feature. We had some really good discussions. But Angelfire will allow you to do a group site where anyone can post. I may do that. That way you will not get all those emails evertime someone posts.

I'm a big fan of LiveJournal which lets you create community sites as well. You can set it to open access posting, members only posting, and members only posting where membership has to be approved.

Just another alternative to Angelfire. :) Though it sadly doesn't have a chat feature...

Angelfire has all the same features as live journal. I think she like angelfire because they have cool backgrounds you can chose. She just has to get motivated to do it.

Im protesting cause no one from Livejournal reads my site except you. :p Beside if I was on livejournal you would complain that I have to do everything that YOU do. How you were on livejournal first..blah blah blah

Didn't mean to start a fight between siblings. What is livejournal anyhow?

Nah, this isn't a real fight. If it were a real fight Becky would have trimmed her fingernails into points and refused to make me a pie. :D

LiveJournal is a blogging community where I keep my online journal. It's free (though you can purchase a membership to get extra options), has an easy to update online client, and my favorite feature... the friend's list (letting you add other LJ or RSS feed blogs to a list and they come up on one page for you so you don't have to visit each individual blog).

Like Becky's blog you can allow comments. You can also "protect" entries, meaning YOU decide who reads your journal; you can make an entry public, available only to those you list as friends, a filtered list of certain friends, or completely private. It's easy to add pictures to entries.

Mine is http://ocannie.livejournal.com/ (and it's the most basic layout ever... which I need to spruce up one of these days). Home page is http://www.livejournal.com/
