Having a holiday during the week really makes the rest of the week fly by. Today there is only 3 of us in the office so it is quiet and very boring. I managed to finish up my work so now...here I sit. I would go out and walk around but we are suppose to get some nasty thunderstorms like any second.
I don't have any major plans for the weekend. I am just going to clean and relax. I ordered Dark City (recommended by several friends)from Netflix and I am anxious to see it.
More Eagle news.
The rescue whet well. A volunteer came up and helped to capture the bird. The wing we thought was broken was just in fact missing some flight feathers. Once he grows them in, it should have no problem flying. The bird was then checked out by a vet who said he was a little under weight but everything else seemed to be fine. It was finally transported to the Carolina Raptor Center in Charlotte where he will finish growing and get nourished and should be ready for release hopefully in Jul or Aug. Below is a picture from the rescue taken by our Co-op Jennifer. The picture is of local raptor rescue volunteer, Steve Stone and the rescued juvenile. You will notice that it doesn't have the white head, white tail feathers, or bright yellow beaks that the adults have. Those will come in about 3 years.
Enjoy your weekend!!!
