Mood: quizzical
I just received a strange phone call from a company call Capital Auto Loans stating that someone by the name of Nancy Day and Robert Walter put my name down as a personal reference. Normally this would not be a big deal but I don't know these people. At least I don't think I do.
I told the guy that I hadn't a clue who these people were. He said they are more than likely an acquaintance that thinks we have more of a friendship than we actually do. I am pretty good at remembering people but the name doesn't ring a bell. He informed me that she works for USDA and that she had put down my home address and phone number. He said she lives in MD and the other references live in MD and DE. He believed that Robert Walter was her son...maybe I knew him? Nope!!! Still doesn't ring a bell. I am hoping this is a case of mistaken identity. There are several people in Raleigh with my name, maybe they have me confused with them?
After I hung up the phone I looked Nancy Day up on the USDA website and got her email address. I sent her a message to see if she can jog my memory. I will be anxious to see if she responds. I will keep you all informed.
Just a word of advice to all my readers. If you are going to use someone as a reference...call them first to see if it is okay and to see if they still remember you.
