Ramblings of a Ranger

I think Hell finally froze over
Mood:  cool
OMG!!! It is cold outside. When I got up this morning weatherbug read 22 degrees. I am early ranger this morning so I had to be out here before the sun came up. I don't like this weather at all. Where are the warm days we had last week?

I am feeling a bit run down. Not sick...just tired. If it wasn't just Justin and I in the office today I would have stayed home. I was snuggled in the covers this morning with Fenwick curled up by my side. He must have been playing in the Christmas tree all night because he smelt like pine. LOL He was worn out and sleeping as close to me as he could. I could have laid there all morning.

Oh yeah by the way...I put up my tree last night. My friend Bryan called me at work yesterday and asked if we could go ahead and get my tree instead of waiting till Sunday. Hoping to spend most of the day on Sunday shopping, I agreed. Bless his heart he is so patient with me. Anyone who goes with me to pick out a tree has to have the patience of a Saint. I am very picky when it comes to my tree. I made him drive to LOWES (you can get an 8ft tree for $40) in Wake Forest which meant we had to sit in rush hour traffic on Capital Blvd. We then missed the turn into the shopping center and had to turn around and back track. LOL Sorry Bryan! We finally got there and headed to the trees. They didn't have much of a selection. We must have looked at 15 trees before I settled on one of the first ones we looked at. It isn't the "perfect" tree but it will do. We brought it home and Bryan carried it up 3 flights of stairs and put it in the stand for me. I wasn't expecting all that. I would have been just as happy if he have left it by the front door. I thought about waiting till Saturday morning to decorate it but who are we kidding...I can't have a naked tree just standing there in my living room mocking me. I was up till 11:30 decorated the tree and my apt. It is done now and I can focus on presents and writing my cards.

Well I better get some work done. All I really want to do is crawl under my desk and take a nap. Maybe I will run to Starbucks and get a peppermint mocha. YUMMM! I some how need to find the energy to work at the pub tonight. I just don't know where I can muster some up. Anybody have any they can spare?

I find that ALL women are picky about their trees, not just you. Deb drove me crazy this year. We must have gone to 20 stands before she finally settled on one. If it has branches and is green it is good enough for me. But her tree needs to be full, have heavy branches for those big ornaments, can't have any holes...blah blah blah. We ended up spending $82 on a 7ft tree. I about had a heart attack. But it made her happy. What is it that you always say??? Happy Wife Happy Life. So true!

I have to find some energy somewhere. I just don't think I am going to make it. *sigh*

Sorry to hear about the insomnia. Hopefully it wont last long.

Yeah I don't know why were are obsessed with finding the perfect tree. I guess because we take such care in decorating the rest of the house. We want people to look at our tree and say, "Man that is a beautiful tree!!!"

And yes it is true. If Deb is happy your life will be so much better. LOL

I am lucky it doesn't take much to make her happy. How is your love life going?

I feel your tree pain. I paid $55 for a 6 ft-er, but its just about perfect. I bought it from the Methodists, so its, like, a holy tree. Sadly, I can't decorate the first foot or so because of Phooy and Shucks. This morning, I found just the ribbon and cap of a glass ball in their water bowl. I don't know what happened to the rest of the ornament, or how they got the thing apart without breaking it, but cats are mystery, right?

Can you bring a holy tree into your house? I thought you were a heathen like me. ;) Fenwick doens't bother the ornaments but he loves the tree skirt. He likes to hide underneath it. I should get a picture of him under it peeking our ready to pounce on something. Your glass ornament is probably shoved under something. You will find it months from now. LOL

yeah, I'm surprised my Holy Tree didn't go up in flames upon crossing my threshhold. Maybe its because Christmas trees were actually, what was it? Viking or something like that.

If you take a picture of Fenwick under your treeskirt, you have to post it. That would make a great christmas card too.

If he would only stay still long enough.

I forgot to tell you. Fenwick apparently hates Dana. He cornered her in the hallway. She said he growled and hissed and attacked her leg. Dana is upset because she has never had an animal not like her before. LOL Fenwick just has to get used to her.
