Mood:  happy

This won’t be a long post because I have two eagle nests to inspect today and I need to get on the road but something happened last night that put me in a better mood than I have been in quite sometime.

I was over at Lennie’s again last night trying to get his stuff packed up. Yesterday it was all about his office. He has a bunch of work and army manuals that need to go into storage. As I cleared off one of the bookshelves I noticed a greeting card sitting on an empty shelf. Upon further inspection I realized it was the very first card I had given Lennie.

It was a Valentine’s Day card. I went for humorous since we aren’t really sappy people. The card had a couple on the front having a picnic and the woman says, “Dan, tell me your dreams.” Dan replies, “They start out differently but they all pretty much end with you naked.”  This was appropriate for Lennie because he always talk about in Lennie Land (his mind) I am wearing a French maid’s outfit. LOL

On the inside of the card I wrote about how for the first time in a very long time I was looking forward to Valentine’s Day and was hoping he could finally break the curse. Which he did.  I was so touched that he kept the card and that he had it displayed on its very own shelf for all the world to see.

My husband is not an overly romantic man but there are times when he does little things like this to make me realize just how lucky I really am to have him in my life. It all made me miss his badly.
