1/5/2003-AND THE MHOB 2003-2004 CHAMPION IS.....

JR RWALINS(RAIDERS)!!!!  Congratulations to the HOB "Rookie" of the Year, JRRawlins for becoming the 4th HOB Champion!

The HOB Bowl came down to Ronzilla v. JR, with JR obviously the last man standing in the HOB Playoffs.

GOOD STUFF JR!!!
Also congrats to DaTruth for two "upsets" on the day, one in the WildCard over the Matrix, and the other over the top seed...E*.

No revenges were sweet today, as NO season losses were avenged in the playoff rematches. Just about every playoff game was a rematch from the regular season and with the same results. Rainman did not get back at Guru, Widow did not get back at Ruckus, Elai did not get back at DonBlack, DonBlack did not get back at CDamn, CDamn did not get back at Ronzilla, E* did not get back at DaTruth, DaTruth did not get back at JR, and Ruckus did not get back at JR.

Ronzilla and JR met for the first time of the season, in the HOB Bowl.

The HOB Bowl featured two "ROOKIES" for the first time in it's history. I would have to say that we actually have Co-Rookie of the Year Awards for each of these players. Manning and McNair of the HOB if you will.

For the 1st time EVER the MHOB Super Bowl was played by two MHOB rookies.....

12/31/2003-The MHOB PLAYOFFS ARE HERE!!!!...

The MHOB Fall 2003 season is in the books and now its time to see who the favorites are to take the MHOB title this season.  The winners are of the 1st round Byes are Ronzilla(11-5) and CDAM(11-5) in the MHOB Atlantic and E*(15-1) and Rucas(13-3) and in the MHOB pacific.

Ronzilla has bounced back after a mid-season slump to gain the Atlantic South division crown.  The Falcons are primed and ready to take the their 1st MHOB title.  CDAM the Atlantic North division winner say's, "The title must come through me..".  The current MHOB champ isn't ready to reliquish the title just yet.  CDAM, has his Titans ready for action and ready to defend the MHOB championship.  Will he be the 1st to re-peat as Champion?  The Wild Card teams will be Don Black (10-6), Mad Guru(9-7), E-lai(9-7), and Rainman (9-7).  These 4 teams will battle it out in the 1st round of the MHOB playoffs this weekend, 1/4/04.  The seedings for the MHOB Atlantic division are:  1.)      In the MHOB Pacific, E*(Bucs)(14-1) is on the verdge of making MHOB history with a 15-1 record setting season.  E* is leading the league in total offense and is rolling through the league full steam ahead.  E* will have home field advantage through out the playoffs.  JrRawlins(Raiders)(14-2), canidate for rookie of the year, is the MHOB pacific south champ and will get a 1st round bye.  Will JrRawlins solid run attack be enough to get him to his 1st MHOB championship or will E* continue rolling through the MHOB playoffs, and his second Super Bowl appearance?  The wild card teams are Matrix(Chiefs), Ruckas(Dolphins), DaTruth(Packers), and Widowmaker/Blaze.  The seedings for the MHOB Pacific division are: 1.) WHO WILL BE THE NEXT MHOB CHAMPION?????????????????????????????????The playoffs are HERE!!!!

12/12/2003-Playoffs Taking Shape-Who's "locked in" and who's on the "bubble"?...

With only a couple of weeks remaining, the MHOB Playoff picture is starting to develop.  Only E* has clinched his division, the Pacific North, for his second consecutive division title.

Other division title battles remain heated.  The entire Atlantic Conference will be a tough fight to the finish.  In the Atlantic South there's a 4-way battle between DonBlack, Ronzilla, Elai, and Swan.  The Atlantic North has a 3-way battle between CDamn, Rainman, and Guru.  Then in the Pacific South, another tight 2-way battle between Ruckus and "Rookie-of-the-Year" top candidate, JrRawlins.  The last few weeks will be exciting as there are upcoming division and conference games between a lot of these players.

Regardless of who gets crowned Division Champions, playoff berths have already been clinched in the Pacific Conference by Matrix, Ruckus, JR, DaTruth, WidowMaker, and E*.  With a much tighter race in the Atlantic Conference, no one has clinched a playoff spot up to this point.  Hard to believe, but the Atlantic playoff race will likely come down to the final weeks with tie-breaker rules needed to decide who will compete for the MHOB Championship from this conference.

11/14/2003-Down the stretch...

With only 6 weeks remaining, the playoff picture is begining to take shape in the MHOB standings.  In the MHOB Atlantic South Ronzilla holds a slight advantage over Don Black for the division title.  Ronzilla put a little distance between himself and Don Black with a week 9 victory.  E-lai is not out of it yet.  He is only 2 games out of 1st place in the division and will have to climb through Don Black and Ronzilla to get there and ensure a playoff spot.  E-lai already has a 1-1 record against Ronzilla and an 0-1 record against Don Black.

In teh MHOB Atlantic North division CDAM(5-3) is maintaining his division leadership over Mad Guru(6-4).  But these two teams seem to be on the opposite side of the spectrum for the time being.  Mad Guru has played strong lately after a very slow start and is currently on a 4 game win streak while CDAM has taken 2 straight defeats.

The MHOB Pacific North is still being dominated by E*(8-1) and the Buccaneers.  E*'s offensive dominance has all but assured him a division title as well as playoff spot.  E*'s only blimish on his record is a 31-28 loss to Da Truth(Packers).  E* has not really been challenged by the other members of the division.  He has 5 more wins than the next closest divisional foe.

The MHOB Pacific South is a heated race to the finish between Ruckas(Dolphins) at 9-1, the hottest team in the MHOB, and JrRawlins(Raiders) at 7-1.  These two teams met in week 4 with Ruckus getting the vicotry, 31-24, in a close battle.  Widomaker(Charges) and DaTruth(Packers) are nipping for the remaining wildcard spots.  This may be the only division with 4 playoff particpants.

11/14/2003-Record Breakers...
Don Black has officially been entered in the MHOB record books as the single game leader for interceptions.  In week 2 Don Black(Patriots) intercepted E-lai, for a record breaking, 9 times.  When asked what was the key to this record breaking day......"...making adjustments to his favorite routes and him making bad reads and not noticing my adjustments ....also some pretty good stick " says Don Black.

10/31/2003-League Additions...
Due to unfortunated circumstances, Iceman will no longer be able to compete in the MHOB season.  Taking his place will be Ronald, using the Ravens.  Ronald debuted with a dominating performance against Rainman, winning 37-14.  We will keep a eye on this player to see how well he continues to compete in the MHOB.

10/31/2003-Then there were none...
E* was going for his 7th consecutive win going into his game with DaTruth(Packers).  E* came up slightly short as he loses to DaTruth 35-38 in OT. DaTruth jumped out to a 28-14 lead before E* came roaring back to tie the game 35-35 in regulation.  E* recieved the ball first and was favored to score on the opening drive of overtime, but DaTruth's Defense held firm by getting an interception and then proceeding to drive into field goal range for the win.  Now there are no undefeated teams remaining in the MHOB.  The MHOB has never had a team go past week 8 without a loss.

10/18/2003-Two in and two out...
Going Da Playmaker and Moose will unfortunantly not be able to complete this MHOB season.  Takeing their places will be Marlon, a MHOB competitor for last season, and Top Gun, new to the MHOB.  Marlon will continue using the Giants while Top Gun has selected to use the Colts.

10/18/2003-Then, there was 1....
E*  is the only remaining undefeated team in the MHOB.  Ronzilla fell from the ranks of the undefeated with two lossed to Myke Blaze and Matrix in back to back weeks.  Ronzilla will not be able to accomplish his goal of going undefeated this season.  E*, however is still in the hunt.  "It's not about going undefeated to me.  I'm just concerned about making the playoffs...", says E*.  E*, fresh off of his great performance at the DC EA challenge in which he was the final runner up, has already established himself as the man to beat in the MHOB.  Who will be the 1st to knock E* off?  Stay tuned for exciting MHOB action.

10/06/2003-Then, there were 2....
Going into week 4 there were 4 teams who were undefeated.  JrRawlins(newly aquired Raiders), Ruckas(Dolphins), Ronzilla(Falcons), and E*(Bucs).  After week 4 was said and done, only two teams remained among the undefeated ranks, E* and Ronzilla.  JrRawlins was handed his first defeat of the season by Ruckas, 24-31.  Ruckas in turn loses to Rainman, 31-38 in a shootout.  So, that leaves E* and Ronzilla as the only two undefeated teams remaining in the MHOB, both at 3-0.  These two teams have started out their seasons blazing.  Ronzilla is averaging an amazing 57.3 points per game.  Ronzilla has beaten his opponents by a combined score of 172-64.  His deep air attack combined with the speed of Vick has been the recipe for success for Ronzilla.  Along the way to 3-0 Ronzilla had to face both CDAM, current MHOB champ and E-lai.  Ronzilla beat both by 20+ points.  E* has been just a dominant beating his opponents 125-29.  E*'s balance attack keeps defenses off balance while his deep passing game makes defenses play honest.  Ronzilla's record may be more impressive considering that he knocked of the current champ and E-lai.  Will Ronzilla continue his quest to be the first and only MHOB undefeated champion?  Stay tuned as the season unfolds.....

09/21/2003-Who's Hot and Who's Not....
With the 1st two weeks of the MHOB season in the books, a few teams have already began separteing themselves from the rest of the pack.  E*(Raiders), Ronzilla(Falcons), JrRawlins(Saints), Ruckas(Dolphins), and Matrix have started the season on great notes.  Each are 2-0, with impressive wins in the 1st two weeks.  E* has beaten his opponents by a combined 78-14, one game was a shutout.  While the high amount of points lead to an explosive offense, E* had been dominating his opponents with defense.  E* leads the league in both Sacks and INTs after two weeks.  Ronzilla has score 50+ points in both of his 1st two games.  His mix of the ever so dangerous Michael Vick in with the deep passing game looks to be almost unstoppable.  Ronzilla feels so confident that he has even said that he will go undefeated in the MHOB, a feat that has yet to be accomplished.  JrRawlins has also showed that he can score with the best of them.  Jr has put up 45 and 56 point prespectively against stiff MHOB competition.  Being new on the scene may be his best asset so far.  Most in the MHOB don't know what to expect from JrRawlins.  After the 1st two weeks, looks like something will be a common theme in JrRawlins's games, high scoreing.  Ruckas, though not high scoring, has looked very impressive in his 1st two victories.  Ruckas has showed that he will contirnue to pound the ball in his traditional style.  Ruckas leads the league in rushing attemps at 55 over the 1st two weeks.  Matrix is off to one of this bests starts as an MHOB member.  Matrix's balaced attact has gotten him a head start on most of the league for a spot in this years playoffs.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Mad Guru, Widomaker, Los, and Myke Blaze are 0-2.  Mad Guru is off to his worst start in the MHOB at 0-2.  Guru has not gotten his offense together and looks to turn things around.  Guru, known usually for a strong running game, has abandoned the running game for a passing attack.  Guru has only rushed 19 times in two games.  So far, this tactic has seemed to be very ineffective. Guru has not had more than 200 yards off offense in either of the 1st two weeks. If Guru is not careful, he made find himself missing the MHOB playoffs for the 1st time.  Widowmaker, is dreading the day that he switched his team from the Saints to the Bears.  Though the Bears may have a slightly more solid defense, what Widowmaker gained on defense does not even closely compare to what he lost on offense.  Widomaker has hinted that he is interested in switching to yet another team.  But who will it be?  Myke Blaze has also dug himself into the 0-2 pit of doom.  Blaze lost his 1st match-up in a shoot out to Jr. Rawlins while gettting shut out in week 2, 31-0.  Blazes problem seems to be turnovers.  He has 8 in two games.  This formula spells disaster.  These errors must be corrected if Blaze is to turn his season around.  LOS who made a switch of teams with Cdam for the Raiders has also started 0-2.  Los play off bid fell short last season.  If he's not carefull, he may suffer the same fate this year.  Los's main problem seems to be consistency.  In week 1, Los rushed for a solid 86 yards, in week 2 only 24.

Will the not so hot teams turn thier seasons around?  or will the Hot teams fizzle on their way to a playoff bid?  Stay tunned for MHOB action!!!!

09/21/2003-Team Musical Chairs....
Cdam, current MHOB champion, has made a block buster trade, sending the number 1 pick overall Raiders to Los in exchange for the Titans.  When asked when, the champ relpies, "Defense and running game....I only got to rush 3."   We will see if this move is the key for Cdam repeating as the 2003 MHOB champion.  In other team switching news, the Iceman has changed his team to the Washington Redskins.  The reason being defense.  "The Bill defense is terrible..." says Iceman after a 21-26 loss to E-lai.  Team owners have until Week 3 of the season to make team changes.  Well, these teams will be locked into these teams after week 3.  Let's just hope they made the right choices.  Also, Widomaker is hinting of a team switch himself.  After two bad losses the 1st two weeks, Widomakers looks to make a new start.  Will these changes be enough to propel any or all of these teams to play off births?  Stay tuned for more exciting MHOB action!!!!

09/14/2003-HOB season start, Rookies make an impact....
MHOB action kicks off witha a bang.  There are not a lot of new faces this year in the MHOB.  5 new baallers enter the MHOB for the first time, Ronzilla,. Da Truth, JrRawlins, Iceman, and Moose.  Each showed that they are members who will be a threat to take the MHOB title.  Ronzilla takes on MHOB vet Swan in a blow out, winning 54-16.  Da Truth showed that he could hang with the best with an impressive game against Ruckus.  Even though he lost, DaTruth had several chances to seal the victory but Ruckus's defense held firm when it needed to do so.  Ruckus defeated Da Truth 21-17.  Jr Rawlins showed an impressive offense with a 45-31 victory over Myke Blaze.  Moose pounded 2002 DC EA champion, Widowmaker, 30-14.  Moose established himself as a run first offense with 39 carries for 165 yards, currently the league's highest total after week one.  Iceman did not play this week.  The Iceman's game is still a mystery.  He'll get to see where he matches up after his week one battle with E-lai.   Will any of these MHOB rookies have an impact on the MHOB play-off picture?  Stay tuned for more exciting MHOB action.

08/26/2003-MHOB Champ lucks up in the MHOB draft...
Once again t6he MHOB draft has past and teams have been picked.  The current MHOB champ had the lucky horse shoe and ended up with the number one pick.  The MHOB champion has the option to keep his previous team or try his luck in the MHOB draft.  His luck paid off.  With the number one pick, CDAM picked the Oakland Raiders.  CDAM once again proclaims that "This is my year...." and states that he will be the first MHOB back-to-back and two-time MHOB champion.  This feat won't be easy as he will have to go through the likes of Ruckus, Widowmaker, E*, Mad Guru, E-lai and a cast of others that are trying for their first title.  Who will be the next MHOB champion?  Stay tuned for the MHOB 2003-2004 season.....Here are the rest of the draft picks and selections for the draft.
