A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches. Whatever you wish for, you keep. Have faith in your dreams, and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dreams that you wish will come true.

Have a Cinderella Themed Wedding

Cinderella, Cinderella.  Who doesn't remember that song?  You have sung it since you were a little girl.  Disney made us all believe in Cinderella, Love and the dream of meeting a Prince in Shining Armour. We were all going to grow up to be Princesses. Royalty and romance are the backbone of every wedding and now that you are all grown up and have found Prince Charming, it's time to turn the fairytale into a reality.

As with any wedding, especially a Cinderella Princess wedding, it is all in the "little" details.  It is the small things that can make a huge difference.  Below are some suggestions for creating Cinderella magic:

LOCATION. LOCATION. LOCATIONTry to find an old mansion, Castle or Ballroom that either looks over a garden setting or opens into a garden setting.  Another place you can look is at a Golf Facility (Restaurant or Room that they rent).  If this is impossible, you will need to decorate the inside to convey a garden theme with elegant flair. Use a lot of pastel colored tulle, satin ribbons, bows, pearl strands, bells, birds, coaches, castles, red roses,  pumpkins and most important don't  forget the red carpet (or red aisle runner).

If you are able to secure an outdoor facility, check to see if your garden setting has a garden path and if so, place container candles on both sides. Enhance the atmosphere of your garden setting wedding with the Cinderella -Fairy Tale theme by adding trellises and arches adorned with flowers and ivy, a decorated gazebo and white chairs draped in tulle.

THE GOWN:  To create "the look" you should have a full ball gown (click here to see examples), elbow-length gloves and either the classic  pearl choker, a satin ribbon choker or even a simple heart on a chain necklace.  (The satin ribbon choker can be easily created by purchasing a thin piece of velvet ribbon and attaching a pretty charm to it.  If your hair is down it can be easily tied into a bow in the back.)  In regards to your bridesmaids: your wedding colors should be pastels, thus so should their gowns.  Colors your should think about are Pastel Pink, Green, Lavender, Blue, and Yellow, as well as Ivory White.  (*Click Here for pearl jewelry from Emitations)

Don't forget the Blue Bird of Happiness.  Try to incorporate them into your theme.  Blue birds are the symbol of happiness and  good luck.  One way to incorporate them into your wedding is to purchase Blue Bird charms or beads to either use in your favors, bouquets, or decorations.  Some ideas include:  Sew a small bluebird on your garter (which will give your "something blue"); affix a bluebird as either a wine charm or into flowers that are wrapped around your toasting flutes or even create napkin rings with a small bluebird affixed to the rings.

THE TIARA:  Every Princess needs a tiara.  It can be simple, elegant or gaudy.  Your choice.  It's your wedding.  No matter what though, it should sparkle as much as the bride.  Another alternative is the bun wrap which is available at Model Bride.

FAVORS  This might be the simplest part of the wedding planning.  Nothing can  rival the glass slipper, filled with butter mints (or gummy mice (if you can find them :  )) all tied up with tulle and ribbon?

The Cinderella fairytale is one love story that has inspired many couples to live out that fantasy by recreating it in their wedding. These crystal bow slippers are a perfect fit for such a theme wedding. Made of crystal, they are elegantly designed with a satin bow and have a shallow space inside the slipper for sweet treats. Let your guest know that you have found your prince charming and will live happily ever after.• Cinderella slippers: 5-1/4"L x 2"H

Let your guest feel like Cinderella for a day with these flower slippers. This slipper is accented with a lovely flower color of your choice. You can fill each slipper with your favorite candy for your guests to enjoy. Plastic Slipper. • slipper: 1-1/4"W x 2-1/4"H x 3-1/4"L

A blushing bride in white is always the epitome of a romantic and elegant wedding. These Italian custom crafted favors are a mini version of a bridal gown on a stick. Each favor is crafted into a white porcelain strapless bodice with a flowing lace bottom. Attach to each dress on the back with a sheer ribbon is a small package of 5 white Jordan almonds in a clear cellophane bag. Arrange a few in a vase or container to create a stylish center piece or lay one on each place setting with a thank you note attached.

Of course, people do choose other favors on occasion. Porcelain candy-filled swans, for example, or lollipop castles of white chocolate. Fans of the fractured fairytale might head straight for the chocolate frogs. Some brides even make chocolate truffle mice. Don't forget to hand out "magic wands" (sparklers, that is!) so guests can wave you off to your happily-ever-after.

FLOWERS  Other than red roses, your flowers should be of subdued colors. Theme appropriate flowers include: Baby's Breath, Camellias, Gardenias, Hyacinth, Irises, Ivy, Lilac, Lily of the Valley, Orchids, Roses, Stephanotis and, Tulips.

RECEPTION TABLE  If you can locate and afford it, a lovely reception table centerpiece would be  an ice sculpture made to depict a castle, a horse drawn carriage, swan or a "Glass Slipper". Other ideas include:

  • Wishing wells decorated with ribbons, roses and birds, and have your Maid of Honor or Best man suggest that guests use the back of their place cards and write down their wishes or advice for the bride and groom. These wishes and advice will become your treasured keepsakes. You may even read them over every year as you celebrate your anniversary. When you write your thank you notes to your guests, include a thank you for their wonderful wish and/or advice.
  • Small Bird Cages with (Fake) Doves and flowers
  • Candelabras with White Pillar Candles.
  •  Another centerpiece idea, is using horse drawn coaches and / or castles for Cinderella - Fairy Tale type table centerpieces whichever you choose,
  •  Place magic wands on the tables too.

BRIDES SHOESAlthough some Bride's want to stroll down the aisle in a "glass slipper" (which is actually vinyl), a more comfortable, affordable and reusable option is to go with the classic white pump.  Just keep in mind that your Prince has already found his Cinderella. (Click here)

MUSIC  Choose music that matches your theme. Soundtracks from the movie Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast or even Waltz Music would be appropriate.  (At least part of the time.)  Be sure to have  "When You Wish Upon A Star" played at some point at the reception.  The bride and groom's first dance should be a waltz.  After that, let the DJ play your favorites.

For drama, right before your first dance (which again, should be a waltz), have your Groom present you with a slipper (high heel shoe) to try on.  This makes a great picture and will make your guests smile.

WEDDING CAKE:  If your budget allows and your baker can do it, have a castle cake.  If you opt for a less costly cake or can not find someone who can create a castle cake, have an ivory layered cake, decorated with roses, bows, candy pearls and ribbons and topped with either a horse drawn carriage or a castle. Place white flickering "Christmas" lights under cotton balls around the base of your wedding cake for that magic effect. For additional fun, have a Charm Pull for your bridesmaids.  (Click Here)

GROOM´S ATTIRE:  A classic black tuxedo or light slacks and a velvet jacket.

TRANSPORTATION:  If at all possible, a horse drawn carriage is in order for your wedding.  Check if a horse drawn carriage service is available in your area. Some such services offer Cinderella  type carriages. If not, opt for a white horses and carriage.

The Dove Release:  A dove release is a must for your Cinderella themed wedding.  It creates ambience, great pictures and will be the talk of the town. Some dove handlers bring their doves in  ornate pumpkin coach carriages that double as cages. These can be placed near the altar for some romantic cooing action, then rolled down the aisle for a dramatic release once you've become husband and wife. It is customary to let the bride and groom release the first two doves themselves, and let the pro handlers release the rest.

How to Have a Disney World Wedding

                      (Courtesy of Ehow.com)
If you've always dreamed of having a fairy tale wedding, consider exchanging your vows in Disney World's magical setting.
Steps:
1.  Decide whether you will have an intimate wedding or a gala including 250 guests.

2.  Visit Disney World at least once prior to the wedding to check out your options. Visit the new Wedding Pavilion, the theme park (you can hold weddings there during the off-season, when the park closes early), Treasure Island, restaurants, hotels and other locations on the property to get some ideas of where you would like your wedding to be held.

3.  Meet with a Disney wedding coordinator to find out about existing wedding packages.

4.  Understand that the price for an intimate Disney wedding for two begins at $3,000 and includes resort accommodations, a ceremony and admission to the attractions. Destination weddings for up to 20 guests begin at $8,000, and customized weddings that include as many guests as you would like average $19,000 to $25,000.

5.  Discuss details with the wedding coordinator. Make decisions about flowers, menu, music, officiant, photographer and decorations.

6.  Allow time during your wedding weekend to take advantage of the activities available at the Disney Magic Kingdom Park, MGM Studios and Epcot.

7.  Choose a Disney theme for your reception. For instance, for a Cinderella wedding, the bride arrives in Cinderella's glass carriage drawn by white ponies, and dessert is served in a white chocolate glass slipper. Other possible themes include Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin. The price is about $395 to have one character attend your wedding, and goes up from there, with additional charges for each extra detail you add.

8.  Realize that you may have to make a second trip to Disney World before the wedding to make last-minute arrangements for a large wedding.

Tips:
Plan your wedding for the off-season, when rates are down and the theme park will be less crowded. Late spring or fall are good times.

Consider foregoing the coordinator if you are having a small wedding and plan to manage the details on your own. Realize that this can be challenging to handle from out of state, but could save you a lot of money.

Book your Disney reservations online (see Related Sites). You can also call Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings department at (407) 828-3400.

Keep in mind that there is no waiting period or blood test required for a marriage license in Florida.

Disney can also arrange a bachelor party or other special event related to your wedding.
Warnings:
Avoid selecting a holiday weekend for your wedding, since these are always extremely busy.
