John Parker Cole born about 1808 in New York or Vermont. Died about 1854 in Scipio Township, LaPorte Co., Indiana. He was married around 1831 in Vermont to Sophia Bates born 10 August 1812 in Danby Rutland Co., Vermont. She died 10 October 1897 in Lake City, Calhoun Co., Iowa.

He was married 19 January 1865 in Cass Co., Michigan to Rebecca Jane Parker born 12 June 1845 in Belfountaine, Logan Co., Ohio. Died 16 November 1932 in Lake City, Calhoun Co., Iowa.

Leon Cole: Cemetery records from Elysian Burial Gardens, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. He is buried in Elysian Burial Gardens, although his first wife, Gloria, to whom he was married for 36 years, is buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, and he had a double headstone made for both he and Gloria which is in place with his name and birthdate on it in Salt Lake City Cemetery. For some unknown reason his second wife, Helen, buried him in Elysian Cemetery on the outskirts of Salt Lake City.
