Aaron F. Frazier: Family Records Received from Bill Lowe Las Vegas. Aaron Frazier made several trips between Pennsylvania & North Carolina. All these are recorded in the Quaker records in New Garden. All evidence (mostly circumstantial) points to Aaron's son John as our John. There were many John Fraziers in North Carolina at this time. Aaron F. Frazier & Sarah Osborne had at least 8 children. Aaron first came to Cane Creek MM in Alamance Co., NC. Later he came to New Garden MM., Guilford, NC. In late 1761 Aaron went briefly back to Chester Co., PA & returned in 1764. He went back again in May 1765 & returned in Nov. 1766. These trips are recorded in the Quaker records at New Garden. Sources: Family Records of J. C. John and Rebecca Frazier Family:Family Records: John Frazier lived near Wegh Point, NC. They were living in Bradly Co., TN 14 Oct 1850 when the census was taken.
All evidence (mostly circumstantial) points to this John as our John. There were many John Fraziers in North Carolina at this time.
John went from Guilford County over the county line to Randolph where he married Rebecca about 1789. In the 1790 census John Frazier has a wife and one small male child. Six children were born in 1809 and later in North Carolina. About 1825 John and family moved to Monroe County, TN, where he is listed on tax list for 1826 and 1827. For the 1840 census they were in McMinn Co., TN. The 1850 census showed him in Bradley County, TN. (Bradley County was formed from a part of McMinn County and others in 1836. This census showed both John and Rebecca to be 78 years old and both born in NC. They probably died before the 1860 census, since they are not listed. Four of the children moved to MO.
On the 1850 census, daughter Kizziah and two children; John and Mary Melissa are also in the home. Kizziah first married Daniel Pearce and had two chiildren. Kizziah married again in 1850 to George Ghan. They moved to Christian Co., MO about 1869. Lorenzo Low, Thomas J. and Abigail also moved to MO. Sources of information: Records of Mamie Dunagan and Juanita Ledford. Monroe Co., TN records; census; family records of Mr. & Mrs. B.J. Ghan; and Oleta Ownby. A Historical Sketch of the Frazier Family by D.S. Frazier. Research done by Esther Carpenter, Bradley County Historical Center.
There is some conflicting information on the children in this family. This is the best information that I have now. (1999) Some sources say this couple moved to MO and died there. They were last on the Bradley County census in 1850. They would have had to move after that and they would have been about 78 and 79 years old??? I think they died in TN.
