THE COWBOY
Most people living in and around Wolverhampton, England know the local man called
the Cowboy. In fact he has often approached people in the streets, giving
his opinions about all sorts of things.
Many preachers who visit the city
have also been on the receiving end of his hatred of religion.
So what made David William Cox this
way? David was abandoned by his mother when he
was only 3 years old and was raised by strict religious institutions, in
which he suffered physical abuse. Consequently he was deprived of real love
and the teachings of the God of love through Jesus Christ.
So for many years David led a lonely
and confused lifestyle and could only gain some form of recognition by acting
the part of the Cowboy.
One day whilst walking around the
city he was approached by a loving Christian who told him that Jesus loved
him.
However David was not initially impressed
by the words and kept saying, “Show me love and I will believe you!" The
Christian man and his wife did show him love, as did a local church. Eventually
David was drawn into a family of Christians who cared for him and put Jesus
words into practice when He said, “Love your neighbour as yourself."
In 2005 David accepted Jesus Christ
into his life and was baptised in water. David has a far more important
activity now telling people about Jesus. This testimony illustrates the
fact that Jesus accepts anyone, whatever state they are in.
The Bible says:-
...if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ( Romans 10: 9 )
Therefore, we urge you to pray a prayer
such as that below right NOW!
Heavenly Father
I come to you now, Lord I am a sinner. I have sinned against you even this
day but Lord I come and ask you in the name of Jesus that you will forgive
me for all my sins, that you will wash me in the blood of Jesus and I shall
be cleansed from all sin and I thank you now for saving me. Come into my
heart and into my life and Lord lead me by your Spirit and help me to live
for you from this day forth and I thank you now in Jesus?name, Amen.
To continue as a true believer you
must follow the Lord Jesus Christ. This involves regularly: 1. Reading the Bible; 2. Praying
to God in Jesus?name; 3. Fellowshipping with other born-again believers.
