As It Was In The Days of Noah

And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Luke 17:26-27

The above words are those of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He continues in the scriptures to say :-

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (Luke 17: 28-30).

Here Jesus predicted that the period before His return would be like the days of Noah and Lot. He mentioned specifically eight activities characteristic of those days: eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, buying, selling, building, planting. In other words, when judgment finally came there was no special activity and likewise when the Lord returns, He will return without any special warning.

We know from the Old Testament in the days of Noah the earth was filled with violence ( Genesis 6:13 ).

Also we see other reasons for judgment.

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good. ( Ezekiel 16 : 49, 50 ).

Remember :-

� every soul that was not shut in with Noah on the ark was shut out. God closed the door on the ark ( Genesis 7:16 ).

� Christ is the ark of salvation; all who come to Him by faith are saved from the coming flood of God' s judgment.

Jesus died for your sins! Admit you're a sinner and in faith believe in Jesus and make Him your Lord and Saviour.

As a first step you can pray the following prayer.

Heavenly Father I come to you now. Lord, I am a sinner. I have sinned against you, even this day, but Lord, I come and ask you in the name of Jesus that you will forgive me for all my sins, that you will wash me in the blood of Jesus and I shall be cleansed from all sin. I thank you now for saving me. Come into my heart and into my life and Lord, lead me by your Spirit and help me to live for you from this day forth. I thank you now in Jesus� name, Amen.

To continue as a true believer you must follow the Lord Jesus Christ. This involves regularly : 1. Reading the Bible; 2. Praying to God in Jesus� name; 3. Fellowshipping with other born-again believers.
