The Lord Provided My Friend With A Wife by Desmond

The Lord Provided My Friend With A Wife- Desmond

In 1986 I went to see a Christian friend in a flat ( apartment ) downstairs from mine. I knocked on his door and when he opened the door I could see from his face that he was depressed and lonely. He invited me into his flat and told me that he going down to Digbeth ( in Birmingham ) coach station in 2 weeks time to take a bus to visit his girl friend in France.

He  informed me that he had asked his girlfriend  if she would marry him. Her reply was, “Can you wait 5 years because I am doing a teaching degree in English so that I can teach English in schools?” He said to me, “I can’t wait for 5 years so can you pray for a wife for me.”

So I prayed, “Lord you know Garry’s heart concerning a wife and you know he is going to Digbeth Bus station in 2 weeks time. Lord, you know he is depressed and lonely. Therefore let him meet a young Christian missionary lady going to the same village as he is going to in Rhuron (sp?). Let them get talking, let them get to know each other, let them get married after 2years and let them have a baby boy. Lord, you know Garry’s heart concerning a wife, meet his needs in Jesus’ name, Amen. “

After I prayed and 2 weeks later Garry went down to Digbeth coach station, boarded the coach and sat down next to a young lady. They started talking and in the conversation Garry said to her, “Where are you going?” She replied, “I am a Christian missionary going to a small village in France called Rhuron!” He replied, “That’s where I am going… I am going to meet my girlfriend in Rhuron!”

As time passed the couple (Garry and the young lady he met on the coach) got to know each other and after 2 years got married and later had a baby boy who they called Cameron.

In conclusion, God met Garry’s needs for a wife and He can meet all your needs also. GLORY TO GOD!

The greatest need of all is salvation. In this regard if you are not saved I recommend that you pray the following prayer and mean it:-

Dear Lord… I admit I am a sinner and need your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place paying the penalty for my sins; I am willing right now to turn from my sin and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord. I commit myself to you and ask you to send the Holy Spirit into my life, to fill me and take control, and to help me become the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you Father for loving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

To continue as a true believer you must follow the Lord Jesus Christ. This involves regularly: 1. Reading  the Bible; 2. Praying to God in Jesus’ name; 3. Fellowshipping with other born-again believers.
