I SAW THE LORD AND HE GAVE ME A SECOND CHANCE

I was running away from God and never realised it. When I was 23 years old and in Glenbrook, Jamaica I heard the voice of God. He said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto thee.” Hearing such a voice I was amazed. Looking around I could see no one present. I said to myself, “My God! “

From that time I did many things but they came to no avail. I couldn’t understand why until later the Lord Himself revealed it to me. At that time the Lord showed me that I was running away like Jonah.

The Lord allowed me to fall on my soul and I found myself in a prison cell. One night about 11- 12 pm I was lying in my cell on my back thinking about my mother. I felt the life leaving my right hand then my left hand. As the life was leaving my right leg and then my left leg I said to myself, “Am I going to be sick?”

At that time the cell was filled with a great light. Then a voice said to me, “Look!” and I turned my eyes towards the window and saw the Lord at the window. Then He showed me the nail prints in His hands. His face was not apparent but the crown of His head appeared like the colour of a rainbow. The colour of His robe was also the colour of a rainbow.

Then the Lord said, “I will deliver you but remember to keep the promise with me this time.” He then raised His hand three times and said, “I shall anoint you. Go out into the byways and hedges and preach the gospel telling the people that I, Jesus am alive, I am not dead; and tell them love ye another. I shall always be with you and don’t be afraid of anyone.” Then He again said, “Keep your promise with me this time and tell the people love ye another.”

The Lord then disappeared from my sight and within about 8 to 10 minutes the life came back into my body and I was able to move my hands and feet again. Then I got up and knelt by the side of my bed and prayed. I fell asleep and when I awoke in the morning I felt I had the strength to break down the whole place.

The prison cell experience occurred in 1970's. In the early 1980’s to the early 90’s I became sick and for about 2 years I couldn’t sleep. I never closed my eyes day or night. The doctors diagnosed me with cancer and wanted me to have surgery which I refused. I believe this chapter of my life was divine chastisement because I went to college and started buying and selling against His will. The good news is that I repented of my disobedience and God healed me from the cancer. The Bible says :-

See also Hebrews 9: 27 and Romans 6: 23.Therefore, if you are not saved or a backslider I urge you to give your life to Jesus Christ. I offer the following prayer as a first step.

 

 

To continue as a true believer you must follow the Lord Jesus Christ. This involves regularly: 1. Reading the Bible; 2. Praying to God in Jesus’ name; 3. Fellowshipping with other born-again believers.
