Your Heart
Jacqueline’s Junque
If your hearts not in it
And you have to walk away,
Please just do it swiftly
Say the words you have to say.
Don't stay with me out of habit
Or a sense of obligation
Knowing that would be more painful
Than complete obliteration.
Just let me go with dignity
While I still have some pride
Don't pretend your heart's still mine
If you can't feel it deep inside.
I know you think I need you
And without you I'll be destroyed
But don't hold me close, proclaiming love
If there is nothing but a void.
Knowing me the way you do
Then you should understand
That I'll just let you walk away
I would never make demands.
Don't let me go on believing
You heart still belongs to me,
If all you really want now
Is a way to set it free.
I'll suffer alone in silence,
And take a while to heal.
But I'd rather bear another scar
Then to know your loves not real.
I won't attempt to stop you
Or try to change your mind
For I don't want to hold onto
A heart that isn't mine.
