MOTHER'S TEACHINGS - MAY 13, 2007 ~ MOTHER'S DAY
I read a passage from a book entitled "Daily Guidepost for 2007" each &
every morning and I'm actually ahead of today...read the entry for Mother's Day which I'd love to share with you all in HONOR of Mother's Day...I made a few changes so it would describe how I feel about my
Mother...here goes:
"DO NOT FORSAKE YOUR MOTHER'S TEACHING" - Proverbs 6:20
It seems to me more and more, as I shuffle toward halftime to my life, that pretty much all the tools and wisdom and food I needed to try to be a woman were given to me, and still are, by my Mother, Thelma Carner.
She is eighty-years-old (will be 81 in September) and getting fragile and papery, but she's still smarter than I am, getting pithier, too.
Whenever I am distressed over lifetime situations, Thelma's advice is to pray...she truly believes in the power of prayer, and I must admit, the older I become I am convinced that prayer is the answer to all of our problems...turn it over to God...HE IS IN CONTROL, NOT ME!!!
Also, I keep thinking that while I'm still crossing roads where growling things are gunning for me, I have the most powerful potent prayers on my
side: my Mother's love, and her wise words of advice.
DEAR LORD: Thanks for Mama and her prayers and her daily emails which keep me in touch with this special lady. Although we are far apart, our daily emails bring us close together everyday. Thank you, Father,
for this wonderful lady that Judy and I call MAMA!!!
