Arena Tour!

What was the recent Arena tour like?

JIMMY: It was our second arena tour. We did 12 dates around the UK. And it was absolutely fantastic. It's probably one of the best feelings ever, being on tour. You've got the live band with you and you're up there and people are singing along and enjoying themselves. It's the best part of the job.

LEE: It was good to have Justin and Atomic Kitten there too. I know Justin loved it. He's only 15 or 16. He's really lovely guy. And the crowd loved him! He got the biggest cheers of the night in his hometown of Glasgow. And that was the biggest crowd of the whole tour! And Atomic Kitten went down well too. It's quite nice to see artists with so much enthusiasm. A lot of people just get thrown into it, not this lot. You've got to love what you're doing. You've got to know what you want to achieve. It's not just about fame. If that's the case you'd get a shock when you found out what it's all about.

What's it like looking back over your career now that the Greatest Hits Album is about to hit the streets?

LEE: I watched our Journey So Far video from February '95. It's all taken back stage and stuff in Malaysia. Those hair styles.... I was laughing all the way through! Looking back you realise what you've achieved as well. I mean, we're one of only four or five bands in the UK that have had top ten consecutive hits!

What're you doing now - writing the next album?

JIMMY: Yep. We're still writing it. But we've written quite a bit now. We've got a couple of months left.!

Has your sound changed?

LEE: I think it's a bit more adult pop now. But we still have our big choruses!!!

What've you been up to recently?

LEE: Well we just got back from Bahrain. We were there for four days. We were relaxing and jet skiing and all sorts. These things don't happen very often!

What about you, Spike, you ran the London Marathon a while back - what was it like?

SPIKE: It was the worst thing I've ever done! The training was fine. But when I got to 19 miles I nearly died! But I was glad I'd done it after it was all over.!

What's been your favourite place to go in the world?

LEE: South East Asia was a great place to go to. We'd never been there before we went as a band. The people there are really mad. And the weather's beautiful as well!

Jimmy, is it true that you writing stuff with Gary Barlow?

JIMMY: Yeah - how did you know? I've done a couple of tracks with him. And we're going to try to do some more with people like that. I learnt a lot from him and he's a really nice guy. Everything I write we add to possible tracks for the next album - it all goes in the pot.

Who's your biggest influence?

LEE: My girlfriend

JIMMY: All the producers and the writers we've worked with.

SPIKE: The Bee Gees. We met them actually when we did the tribute album. They're really nice guys. I've always wanted to meet them. They're legends.
