Psalm 56:8
Thou tellest my wanderings:
put thou my tears into thy bottle:
are they not in thy book?
In the Old Testament of the Bible,
David here is refering to the belief that God
keeps a record of human pain and suffering
and always remembers our sorrows.
In the Bible lands and times
people would save their tears in a bottle
to prove to God that they had wept many times
for a Godly cause.
Only tears cried for the glory of God were kept.
Tear bottles were buried with a person
when they died
to show how they had cried
for the glory of God
Bottles were also used during the Victorian period,
when those mourning the loss of loved ones
collected their tears in bottles
that were ornately decorated with silver and pewter.
When the tears were evaporated ,
the mourning period would end.
Women were said to have cried into tear bottles
and saved them until their husbands'
returned from battles.
Their collected tears would show their men
That they were very loved and missed.
God has a bottle and a book
for his people's tears,
both those for their sins
and those for their afflictions.
Psalm 34:19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous:
but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
He observes them with compassion
and tender concern;
he is afflicted in their afflictions,
and knows their souls in adversity.
Lamentations 3:22
It is of the LORD's mercies
that we are not consumed,
his compassions fail not.
As the blood of his saints,
and their deaths,
are precious in the sight of the Lord,
Psalm 116:15
Precious in the sight of the LORD
is the death of his saints.
so are their tears,
not one of them
shall fall to the ground.
2 Kings 20:5
Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people,
Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father,
I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears:
behold, I will heal thee:
on the third day
thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
And God will not forget the sorrows of his people.
The tears of God's persecuted people are bottled up
and sealed among God's treasures;
and, when these books come to be opened,
they will be found vials of wrath,
which will be poured out upon their persecutors,
whom God will surely reckon with
for all the tears they have forced from his people's eyes;
Revelation 16:1
And I heard a great voice out of the temple
saying to the seven angels,
Go your ways,
and pour out the vials of the wrath of God
upon the earth
God will comfort his people
and give to those to reap in joy
who sowed in tears.
What was sown a tear will come up a pearl.
Psalm 56:9:
"When I cry unto thee,
then shall my enemies turn back;
I need no other weapons than prayers and tears;
this I know, for God is for me,
to plead my cause, to protect and deliver me;
and, if God be for me,
who can be against me so as to prevail?"
Hebrews 5:7-10
7 Who in the days of his flesh,
when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears
unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8 Though he were a Son,
yet learned he obedience
by the things which he suffered;
9 And being made perfect,
he became the author of eternal salvation
unto all them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest
after the order of Melchisedec.
We have God for us;
and we know it
and to him we must cry when we have need
we do this in faith
trusting in his compassion and protection.
Pray With Your Tears
Mary wept at Jesus’ feet after the death of
Lazarus her brother (see John 11:32-33).
Can you remember a sad time in your life
when you cried with another person?
Do you remember the emotional release
and bonding with that person after the tears?
We also can open our hearts to God
and deepen our relationship with Him
by crying in His presence,
offering our tears as prayers.
Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication
in the Spirit,
and watching thereunto with all perseverance
and supplication
for all saints;
Every living person will shed tears
as long as we live on earth .
Conditions that cause tears are:
death, sorrow and pain.
Only in heaven there will be no need
for a tear bottle.
God declares in His word in:
Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears
from their eyes;
and there shall be
no more death,
neither sorrow,
nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.
Tears Will Never Stain The Streets Of That City
Thank you sis Sherry for helping me
find this complete song! I Love you dear sis:-*
Midi Written by Dottie Rambo
If I could count all the tears that have fallen
It would seem like an ocean to me.
If my heart were a window you could look through
Oh the pain and scars you would see.
Chorus:
But tears will never stain the streets of that city
No wreath of death on my mansion door.
Teardrops aren't welcome beyond the gates of Glory
Because the heart will never break anymore.
I have questioned the loss of a loved one
Because the grave seems so final and cold.
But we'll meet again where death has no victory
In a land where we'll never grow old.
I've never met one man without sorrow
And I've never looked into eyes with no pain.
But I know a land where grief is a stranger
And songs of joy are the only songs we'll sing.
Chorus:
And tears will never stain the streets of that city
No wreath of death on my mansion door.
Teardrops aren't welcome beyond the gates of Glory
And the heart will never break anymore.
No, the heart will never break anymore.
Never break anymore.
