CHAPTER FIVE

Isaac was staring off into space, lost in thought. Terry had been on his mind a lot lately. It was more then her problems with her mom, however. He had also been thinking about his friendship with Terry. He couldn't put his finger on what was the problem though.

" Oh my gosh! Aren't you Isaac Hanson?!," someone shrieked.

" Um, yeah," he said, rubbing the ear that had been yelled in. He looked up to see a verry pretty girl of about seventeen or eighteen, with bright green eyes and long auburn hair. She was tall and thin, dressed in a mini skirt and shirt that was little more then a sorts bra. Isaac guessed she was a cheerleader. Ignoring everyone else, the girl pulled up a chair and sat right next to Isaac.

" My name's Andrea. Anrea Wilson," she said, putting her hand on Isaac's arm, " My friends and I love your little band. I can't believe I am actually talking to the Isaac Hanson! Oh, hi Zac. Anyway," she said, turning back to Isaac before Zac could reply, " I've lived here for years and I've never seen you except for Mayfest. You guys were so cute!," she giggled.

Isaac looked at her like she was crazy. Avery and Mackenzie were giving each other looks of disgust. Zac was grinning like an idiot, partially from his brothers discomfort and partially from Andreas overly aggresive flirting.

Authors note: I'm not stereotyping anyone, such as cheerleaders, that is just how I am making this character. She is supposed to be a ditz and a major flirt, cheerleader or not.

" Tell me, Ike. Why aren't you going to public school?," Andrea smiled, running her hand up and down his arm. Isaac flinched at her touch, raised his eyebrows at her, and moved his arm away from her.

" I don't know. My mom homeschooled us so long and we're so used to it, I guess we don't really want to go to public school," he said akwardly.

" Oh, well that's too bad. You'd be able to meet more people, you could join clubs, go to dances. It's so bad you have to miss out on that," she leaned in close.

" We don't, really. We meet a lot of people at church and church has a lot of activities, including dances," he replied, rolling his eyes.

" Well, that's good," she smiled, revealing perfect teeth. She put her hand on top of his . " But what about dating? I hear you're not dating anyone and it's not like you'd have any trouble finding someone. So why are you still single?"

" Um, I, uh, I just haven't found anyone I'm interested in," he muttered.

" You know, I'm not doing anything tonight. Why don't we go out for dinner and then a movie or dancing? You know, something romantic," she said, running her hand along his arm again. Zac was turning red by now and beginning to snicker. Isaac just wished this girl would go away. Is she crazy or something?, he wondered.

" Look, Andrea," he started, moving away," I'm sure you're a nice person and everything, but I don't even know you."

" Well, we can change that," she purred.

" I've got plans anyway!"

" I'm back," Terry anounced pointedly," Here you go, Mackie." She handed him a new soda.

Isaac looked up at her as if to say 'I can explain' and stammered, " Andrea, do you know Terry Mason? I'm pretty sure you guys go to the same school."

Andrea gave Terry a cold stare. Eyes flashing, she slowly stood up and looked between Terry and Isaac. " Yeah, I've seen her around," Andrea said coldly," Now I know why you don't want to go out with me! You could have told me from the beginning that you had a girlfriend, instead of giving me all these excuses and making me look like an idiot, Clark Isaac Hanson!" With that, she turned and stormed off towards the restrooms.

" Woah, she sure told you, Ike!," Zac giggled, " And the funny thing is that you didn't do anything this time! Well, that and the fact that she was all over you!" He burst into peals of laughter." Oh man, what a dork!"

" What was that all about, anyway?," Terry asked.

" I'll tell you about it later," Isaac said. He glanced at his brother, who was now rolling on the floor, holding his sides. People were beginning to stare. " Besides, if I don't tell you, he will. Knowing him, he'll make it seem like a bigger deal then it really is."

" That's not true!," Zac gasped, trying to catch his breath.

" Maybe we'd better go now," Terry said. Everyone agreed. Terry finally managed to pull Zac off the floor and after cleaning up the younger kids, they headed out. But as they stepped outside, they saw Taylor and Maddy coming.

" Hey! Are you leaving already?," Taylor asked.

" Yeah," Isaac answered, " What are you doing here? I thought you were gonna watch a movie."

" We couldn't agree on a movie, so we thought we'd get some food and bug you guys instead," Maddy replied.

" Yeah. So if you're leaving, we'll just see you later," Taylor said as he and Maddy started to walk past.

" Tay, I wouldn't go in there if I were you," Isaac pulled on his arm.

" Why not?," Maddy interjected. She looked at Zac curiously as he began to snicker.

" I'll tell you on the way home," Isaac said, " but just take my word for it; You don't want to go in there."

" And then she bitched him out for making her look like an idiot!," Zac laughed.

" What did she say?," Felicia asked.

" I believe it was something like, ' You could have told me from the beginning that you had a girlfriend, instead of giving me all these excuses and making me look like an idiot, Clark Isaac Hanson'," Zac imitated in a high pitched voice.

" I wish I could have been there!," Felicia giggled, " That is definitly what you call a typical blond."

" Uh, Felicia, you're a blond."

" Yeah, but I'm not one of those typical ditzy blonds."

" True. But she wasn't blond either."

" Maybe, but she sure acted like one!"

" Good point. She must have dyed her hair or something."

" That would be my guess. Oh, Zaz, before I forget, my parents are going out for the day tomorrow and thay said I could have a friend at the house with me. I was just wondering if you'd care to be that friend? We could watch a movie, listen to music, rollarblade, or just hang out."

" Let me think. This Erin girl is gonna be here in a couple of days and my mom wants to completely clean the house. But I think after I do the stuff she wants me to do I should be able to come over for a few hours."

" So odds are, you'll be able to come for a while?," Felicia asked hopefully.

" Yeah, I think so."

" Well, let me know when you can come over."

" I will. I'l call you first thing tomorrow."

...She could almost see that person. Just a little closer. But he ran around a tree and he was gone! She decied to go back, but when she turned to go the way she had come, she didn't see a way back. She turned in circles, but she was lost. Terrified, she began to call for help.

" Daddy!," She whimpered," Daddy! Help me!"

She heard footsteps behind her. Maybe it was him. But before she could turn around to look, an arm snaked around her throat and jerked her backwards...

Terry sat up, wide awake now. She had had that dream again! She'd never had the same dream twice before and she really didn't want this one. The dream made her uneasy and she wasn't even sure why. She layed down, shaking.

Please, don't let me have that dream again!, she silently prayed. What's wrong with me?
