ALBUM REVIEW:

The Halo Friendlies' self-titled debut on Jackson Rubio Recordings offers one of the best rock efforts ever. The girls do high-quality pop rock, punk rawk, rock and roll, alternative rock, and modern rock all on one album. Their is not one song that is not as good as the rest of them. They are all great!

The lyrical theme varies throughout the CD, but generally focuses on real life feelings and relationships with others and with God. It focuses on themes that both Christians and non-Christians can relate to (especially girls). Songs like Flake-O (On My Scalp-O) and Lets Be Friends deal with relationships with guys that are creeps while Jackie Chan and Love Sick talk about guys that are very cool. Cry of Job deals with trusting in God during trials even though we don't understand why these things are happening to us. Look Around talks about the emptiness one feels without Christ. Safe In the Cradle expresses the comfort we feel in knowing Christ. I'm Fine is about leaving behind our old sin and eracing the scares it left because now that we have Jesus, we are "just fine."

Musically, the whole album rocks! New Wave is like a surfer rock song, while Flake-O On My Scalp-O and Jackie Chan are cool fast girl punk rawk songs. Other songs like Cry of Job and Safe In the Cradle are more pop-modern rock, and Let's Be Friends and I'm Fine are rock-out alternative songs.

This album covers everything imaginable for the pure-rock fan and I highly recommend it. Two thumbs up for The Halo Friendlies!
