Skillet
Hey, You I Love Your Soul
Skillet's sophmore effort, Hey You I Love Your Soul, comes with more of an electronica sound than fans were used to on their first album. However, the band holds it's brand of alternative rock. Like their debut project, Hey You I Love Your Soul, features a collection of songs that are very diverse from one another. You will not sit their and say all the Skillet songs sound the same. The band also has fun with slowing things down in the middle of the song as they did on their last project and then rocking out until the end on songs like Locked in A Cage and the title track. The album features pure rock out songs like Locked in a Cage and Hey You, mid-tempo songs like Whirlwind, Scarecrow, and the electronica track Deeper, and slows things down with More Faithful and Coming Down.
Lyrically, the album deals with God's love for us (Hey You, More Faithful), God's ability to calm our rage (Locked in a Cage), growing in deeper knowledge of God (Scarecrow), and more dealing with our personel relationship with Him.
In all, you can hear the band's musical and spiritual maturity in this album and it rocks!
