The Wonderful World of Harry Potter

Can anyone fully explain the lure of the Harry Potter books? I know that I have lain awake on various occasions, half expecting Voldemort to emerge from the shadows and attack me, or to see a unicorn wandering down the hallway.I love the strength of Harry, the intelligence of Hermione and Ron's unique sense of humor. Yet most importantly, I love the fact that J.K. Rowling weaves morality into her tales without preaching. She gives us heroes in a society that is filled with sports celebrities and movie stars. She is a phenomenal author, and I actually located her address. If you would like to contact her, please write to JK Rowling, c/o Scholastic Books, 555 Broadway, New York, NY, 10012.

Inspiration from JK Rowling

"Ah, music,'(Dumbledore) said, wiping his eyes. 'A magic beyond all we do here!"(128), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

"Your mother died to save you. If there is one thing Voldemort cannot understand, it is love. He didn't realize that love as powerful as your mother's for you leaves its own mark. Not a scar, no visible sign...to have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever. It is in your very skin. Quirrell, full of hatred, greed, and ambition, sharing his soul with Voldemort, could not touch you for this reason. It was agony to touch a person marked by something so good."-Albus Dumbledore, explaining to Harry why Professor Quirrell could not harm him in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, (299).

"You think the dead we loved ever truly leave us? You think that we don't recall them more clearly than ever in times of great trouble?"-Dumbledore speaking to Harry Potter about his father, on page 427 of The Prisoner of Azkaban .

If you have a favorite inspirational line from a Harry Potter book, please email it to me with the page number and I will include it here. Thank you!:)

Potter Poetry

Has J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series inspired any budding poets out there? If you have been moved by the words of this eloquent author and have penned a poem relating to the world of Harry Potter and Hogwarts, please send it to me and I will gladly include it here. We could even have our own little TriWizard Poetry Contest, if anyone is interested. Otherwise, just send those pieces in!

All Harry Potter characters and the quotes herein are property of Scholastic, and I have only included them here to inspire fans and spread the word about these remarkable novels, not to profit from them in any way.
