How San Jose State University is Like Disneyland
Hello, people! I began attending San Jose State University for the fall semester of 1999, and while walking into school one day, an idea struck me. As I gazed up at the 7th Street garage, with its orange metal railings and automobiles whirling around corners, I was reminded of the Autopia at Disneyland. Inspired, I compiled a list of Disneyland-like places at San Jose State. If you are ever in the San Jose area, please e-mail me and I will try to give you precise directions to the university. Either that, or use the Mapmaker on Yahoo. It's quite reliable. Anyway, without further ado, here is my list:
The Magic Kingdom of San Jose State
- Disneyland has the Autopia, and SJSU has the 7th street garage with 5 levels of orange railing, rounded cement curves and the lengthy exit ramp which you can zoom down if you wish.
- Both have lengthy lines for their shuttle buses!
- Both feature overpriced merchandise.
- There is a diverse group of people at both locations.
- SJSU and the Magic Kingdom are both exhausting!!! (Only former and present college students can appreciate this!)
- Both carry the aroma of cigarette smoke.
- The 10th street garage has an "Alice" ride-like exit, leading drivers down a twisting dark path with white arrows to the exit.
The Tower has a deep resonating bell that sounds exactly like the one at the "It's a Small World" ride.
Both are a lot of fun!
