Myrtle Luella Washburn May-27-1908 in Vermillion, Clay Co., SD, daughter of Henry Washburn and Elizabeth Cook.

OBIT: Jan. 27, 1937: Rites Held for Mrs. Maynard, Former Clay County Resident Dies at Home in Minnesota: Funeral Services were held at the Oliver Chaussee home Friday afternoon of last week for Mrs. Fred Maynard, who died at her home in Correll, Minn., early Wednesday morning. The body was brought to the old home here for services and burial with the Rev. W.C. Deer officiating at the last rites. Interment was made in Bluff View cemetery. The Elmore Funeral service directed the arrangements. Mrs. Maynard, who before her marriage was Myrtle Luella Washburn, had been sick for about a week before she died. She was 60 years old. Born September 20, 1876, at Vermillion, Mrs. Maynard grew to womanhood in this locality. She was married to Fred Maynard, also a resident here, May 27, 1908. About twenty-one years ago Mr. and Mrs. Maynard and family moved to Correll, Minn., where she had since made her home. Numerous relative and friends were here for the funeral. Pallbearers, old friends and relatives of the family, were Roy Washburn, of Sioux City, Iowa; Albert Sney, of Burbank SD; Ed and Harry Smith, of Correll; Percy Knoll, of Correll, and Oliver Washburn of Vermillion. Survivors include the widower, Fred Maynard, five sons, Fred, Wayne, Ralph, and max of Correll, and Earl, of Appleton, Wis.; six daughters, Gail and Vera Maynard, of Correll; Mrs. Frances Knoll, Mrs. Helen Clapp, all of Correll; Mrs. Alma Bottolf, of Ponca, Nebr., and Mrs. Nona Truleau, of Elk Point; one sister, Mrs. Celia Chaussee, of Vermillion, and four brothers, Norman Washburn of Vermillion, and Ed, Harry and Frank Washburn, of Sioux City, Iowa. Thirty-one grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Maynard was a member of the Evangelical church in Correll but in early days was baptized in the Baptist church here.
