Located in Southern Piscataquis County is the Jo Mary-KI Multiple Use Management Forest. It is a working forest but offers numerous outdoor activities to the public. There are over 60 campsites in the Jo-Mary/KI management. There is no electricity and you should bring your own water. You are allowed to use dead or down wood for your campfire. While traveling on these roads, trucks have the right of way.

The first picture is Jo Mary Lake. It is located 18 miles from Brownville or 15 miles from Millinocket. Jo Mary is great for camping, swimming and a family vacation. It has a sandy beach and the water where you swim isn't very deep. It also offers fishing, boating and Maine wildlife.

The Katahdin Iron Works is a historical site. It is located 14 miles from Brownville or 32 miles from Millinocket. You can see the beehive and the kiln that still stands today.

You can also go to Gulf Hagus, known as the, "Grand Canyon of the East." The scenic canyon stretches 3 miles, has 5 major waterfalls, and there are some nearly vertical walls with 40 yard drops. It is part of the Appalachian Trail corridor. Here is three of the falls that you will see. They are Screw Auger Falls, Stair Falls Gorge and Billings Fall.
