ALBUM "NOT" DUE NOVEMBER!
I now believe the rumours of the new album, (below) to be false. :( Apparently the information was hoaxed to liven up a Cranberries mailing list. I apologise for the excitement, but to ensure you "hear it here first" often the information will be rumours which are corrected later. Once again I am very sorry. I will keep you informed with any more info on the new album, due soon?
GREATEST HITS SONGBOOK
While on the the look out for Cranberries things this morning at one of my local shopping centres I noticed a new songbook. Not only was I pleased to find the To The Faithful Departed songbook and the Dolores Unplugged CD, but I found a Cranberries Greatest Hits Guitar Tabs book. It includes a mixture of tracks from all three albums. Unfortunatly I couldn't afford it, but it is being kept for me and as soon as I buy it I will post more information to this page.... so please "watch this space!" I have also recently heard of another "Greatest Hits" guitar song book which includes a CD with backing tracks?!
VIDEO NEWS
The release of the FTD World Tour video may have been cancelled? The Cranberries manager has now denied its release. This may be because its release is being kept secret, but there is the possibility there will be no official release. :(
CORK FESTIVAL
The rumour that the Cranberries will be playing the Cork festival on June the first has been confirmed, but I am not so sure now with Dolores being pregnant? I am sure they will go ahead with it, but I have heard they will not be playing at any other festivals for 1997, but do look forward to 1998 and performances of new material. It was previously rumoured they would be at the Fleadh, but these rumours have been denied.
DOLORES IS PREGNANT
Dolores confirmed at Fergal's wedding that she is pregnant and that her baby will be due in six months, (October time.) She announced it to all the guests with husband Don. The Cranberries manager is of course pleased for them and has said this will not affect the recording of the new album. Obviously as soon as she is ready they will be recording, but it is still due late 1997, early 1998, although I am sure she will want to spend some time with the baby before rushing out to record or tour! The tour is also still on schedule for 1998, it has not yet been officially confirmed where it will start. I wish Dolores all the best and hope her and the baby are in the best of health. There have already been discussions amoungst fans over its sex and names! I expect its surname will be Burton though.
LIVE VIDEO
Yes its true! It seems a live video from the Free To Decide World Tour will be out this summer. It is not yet decided whether it will be the Pine Knob performance, as previously aired in many places World Wide, or the Minessota show as confirmed. This was apparently planned before the cancellation of their tour and is not due to it.
HOLLYWOOD RELEASED
Dissappointment for all Cranberries fans who don't live in France. I believe Hollywood has been released on a France only basis. I understand at present there are no plans to release it World- wide. The promo was released in France and now a single is available. I have located a place in the UK that had one of these CDs for sale. It features: Hollywood/Forever Yellow Skies (Live in Toronto.) No details are available on the rumoured 4-track version, but I'll keep searching!
A LIVE PERFORMANCE?
It has been rumoured the Cranberries will be appearing at a festival in Cork , Ireland this June. I believe the date is the 1st. Not much information is available at the moment. The Irish gig is likely to include other artists such as The Corrs, U2, Enya, Sinead O'Conner etc. Is this where we are going to start hearing new Cranberries material? I'll keep you posted!
GOD BE WITH YOU
Dolores O'Riordan has recorded a new song entitled "God Be With You". The song will be featured on the Devil's Own motion picture soundtrack. The movie opens in the US on March 25th and the soundtrack will be released in early April. A 23 sec clip of the new song can be found on the PlaNET Cranberries web page.

HOLLYWOOD
It seems Hollywood is set to be the next Cranberries single due sometime February, early March. A promo has been released in France and is available World Wide from the usual oulets. The track keeps appearing in shopping centres everywhere, I have even heard it myself in the UK. A video is said to have been recorded and it is believed part of it is featured on the Australian news clip (available to download on most other pages!) It seems we may also see some of the live performances recorded on their brief (cancelled) Free To Decide tour. Forever Yellow Skies and Electric Blue are the favourites. I am personally looking forward to seeing the Cranberries version of Patsy Cline's Crazy appearing somewhere soon on an official release.
NEW ALBUM
The Cranberries have allegadly been seen entering a recording studio recently for there next album. A recent quote has been heared about Dolores' health: "Dolores is feeling much better, the whole group are feeling refresshed after their rest and are now keen to get back to work, there are quite a lot of songs already lined up for the next album, due out in 1998." I am looking forward to the tour.
