Kevin's True Story

1998 rifle deer season was the best ever for me!!!!! I have been hunting the "grandad buck" of our property in Hillman Michigan for over five years but, I have failed to get a good kill shot at him. We could always pick him out of all the others by not only his size but by markings he had on his face and on his feet (distinct white markings). On November 26 at 4:48pm in the rain with only have seeing him during bow season he finally showed his wonderful self. I was setting in the blind and from the thicket came a large doe. I raised my rifle to take her (we had a lot of doe permits for rifle) and as I put the cross hairs on her I saw some movment coming from behind her so I waited and out came a small rack with big body six point (around 150lb.) so I moved my cross hairs to him when I was just ready to pull the trigger "granddad" trotted out behind the six giving me a seventy yard broadside shot with out hesitation I sighted and sqeezed the trigger dropping the 196lb dressed eight point to the ground. While gutting I found that the shot went through both lungs and part of the heart dropping granddad to the ground for good. I have always felt that deer never are moving in the rain, but seeings as I shot him in the pooring rain, my views on this have changed. I am the happiest hunter of 1998. I visit your sight often and wanted to share this with you. Thanks, and I think you have a great sight.
